RoseCraft Knives

They all have their own stamp but we have to make our choices and as I already have a number of RRs with a clip point and my Buck 112 , I just really admire the Nolichucky and dont remember seeing another like it . By the many positive comments it does seem RC have their quality control well and truly under control .
RR are very good, but you’ll appreciate the step up - as we all do - with RC, of that there is little doubt

Yeh , really looking forward to the re stocking of RC in the UK . Obviously heard lots of great things about RC their F + F etc but cant seem to find anything regarding actual useage ?

OHD's State of the Brand. So far. 🤣

This month has been interesting. Acquired more knives than I had planned on doing the entire year. Discovered a few things regarding RoseCraft.

I'm not a fan of most of their patterns. I am a fan of a few.

Buffalo River and Nolichucky Jacks are definite winners, for me. Will be watching for any releases with new handle materials.

French Broad and Sowbelly are OK, for me. I'll keep the ones I have but I won't be looking to add any additional ones with different handle materials.

Oddballs.

Teardrop. I love the Teardrop pattern, my favorite Case pattern overall and I have 11 variations of the single-blades. I'm sure I'll like the RoseCraft, but I'm not sure of the blue bone, I've never really been a fan of blue knife handles. I have a copy on the way. I'll be watching to see if they drop another teardrop with different handle material. And if by chance I do like the Bora Bora Blue, I'll likely look to add a Buffalo River Jack in BBB.

Gunstock. I have never been a fan of the Gunstock pattern, the shape is not visually appealing to me. And they have always appeared to be a large folder. So, I've never tried one. That changed, I took delivery of a Gunstock in Stag. Haven't posted a pic yet as I wasn't sure I'd be keeping it. I almost immediately put it back in the box to do a return, the handles are off enough it makes my OCD twitch. Other than that, the F&F/ edge/ etc... are on par with the other knives I've received. I decided to handle the knife for a while. I realized that with all the Stag texture and imperfection, I really couldn't notice in-hand what my eyes were seeing, unless I concentrated on the imperfection. Same as with other Stag knives I have. I handled the knife, used it to cut a few things, tossed it into my pocket a few times off and on throughout the day. Turns out I like RoseCraft's pattern. Feels nice in-hand, not too big, not too small. I like it enough that I'll keep it, and I now have a black micarta on the way. It's another one I'll be keeping my eye out for releases in new handle materials.

So, there's four patterns I like. Two that are OK. The other current offerings do not interest me. I'll be watching the four patterns I like going forward. Once I have the ones available that I want to get, I'll post a family snapshot. For now, here's the Gunstock. The bolsters are already showing handling wear.

- am slightly confused by your hesitance for RC having, apparently, not bought or used one.

Show me a decent field test for RR. Would suggest once you have had the opportunit to try a RC or two, you'll understand.

RC uses something very like, if not Stag - whereas RR uses cleverly CNC machined bone to look like Stag.

Have around a dozen RR models, they're great.........not as great as RC.

No hesitance Chui , as I am literally waiting for restock at HH but that may take longer than I thought according to a message I received from Heinnies . I was just inquisitive as to what people thought of their actual usage ? As I said Ive been around knives for sixty years plus both good and bad but reading peoples views on RC folders I would have no hesitation in buying one , its just when I can actually get my hands on one .

I have numerous RRs and carry one every day but to be honest Ive only had light use which is all Im bothered about these days . I always say its horses for courses with knives and cannot see the point of over use or testing to destruction .

There is at least another UK site selling rosecraft, Cyclaire.

RR has made actual stag knives too

I'm older and less active, and use knives significantly less than decades ago. Couple that with having way too many knives (could it be?), mine see little use. Cutting occasional food, string, cord, tape, opening mail/ packages is about the toughest use case these days.

……..oh, no….! You seem as much of an ol’ fart as I am 😁

Well, if you’re ever near the smoke, where I live, we can meet up and you can have a play with the RCs I’ve got 👍🏻
