I just wish that they would release it in stag without the shield. I feel like they would sell a lot of those.Late to the party but I like it!

Where did you buy the factory second from? Here is my stable of RC’s. Despite being a factory second, the gunstock jack is probably the nicest and my favorite one of the bunch.

I'm notHello Chui , having no chance at present of getting the Rosecraft Nolichucky Dapper , I have gone back to my original research and taken a second look at this easy open Lambsfoot which I have to say I do like the look of and for me personally an easier knife to open due to increasing arthritus in my hands . Whats your thoughts ? I really admire the English style shape blade .
Hope they come out with more of the briarpatch.I'm notChui , of course, but if you're drawn to a knife with a lambsfoot blade, I'm very pleased with the only Rosecraft knife I have, a Briarpatch Jack with lambsfoot and clip point blades and "smoky gray" bone covers. I don't know if that is a model that's available to you (or if you're open to 2-bladed knives).

I have ordered the easy open model but thanks anyway .I'm notChui , of course, but if you're drawn to a knife with a lambsfoot blade, I'm very pleased with the only Rosecraft knife I have, a Briarpatch Jack with lambsfoot and clip point blades and "smoky gray" bone covers. Sorry, I thought I hit send on the reply. I got it From Rosecraft themselves. I think once or twice a year they do a seconds sale. There might be a little divot on the spring, but for the life of me, that’s all that I can find that would be a second. I would definitely try your luck next time one of those sales comes upWhere did you buy the factory second from?
Paul , out of curiosity is the wood covers on this treated with any kind of finish or would it be appropriate to give it 2 or 3 light coats of danish oil or even beeswax as a way of feeding the wood ? I usually carry out these procedures before use on most wood handled knives .
On the wood handled RCs that I have I see no benefit but if that’s what you feel you need to do by all means have at it!!Paul , out of curiosity is the wood covers on this treated with any kind of finish or would it be appropriate to give it 2 or 3 light coats of danish oil or even beeswax as a way of feeding the wood ? Other than Andy choosing that shield for the 3 patterns he did, I would say no.Meant to ask , once again out of pure curiosity , is there any significance as to why some of the RC knives carry a sleleton shield ? thought Id ask as Im waiting for my Elk river to be delivered .
Thanks JohnOther than Andy choosing that shield for the 3 patterns he did, I would say no.
I like it and hope he uses it more!!

Fondle it like a string of worry beads ! Couldnt have put it better myself Paul because its what I do every single day of my life with my collection and have done for I cant say how many years ! My Missus says they are like a babys comfort blanket to me . Always loved the feel of my old Sheffield sheath knife in my pocket as a kid ( and absolutely nothing to do with violence ) just throwing and sticking in tree trunks and whittling pieces of sticks into spears , although we very often played split the kipper / chicken where the odd injury did occur !Yep.
Have always had an appreciation for knives.
Sure, there's obvious appreciation for expensive high-end models - equally, truly love the less expensive knives - particularly so when there's consistency.
These Rosecraft knives are pretty damn amazing. Think I have 8 different models in all. This one below, sits in the tray day in day out, and so often gets picked up...........open/close, open/close, fondle, fondle. It makes a lovely walk n talk noise too. Another version of worry beads
......sounds silly, but brings a smile to my face.
