Ja Mon!

Many times I have been to the forums and always I see everyone say "this steel is better" or "that steel is the best" and every time it just make me laugh. Many people say Japanese steel is good and other people say American steel is better. It is time that the world once and for all should know the truth: The best steel in the world is from Jamaica and it is called Rosta-Frei Steel.

Now I know you going to say " yeah, yeah, sure, sure, what makes this Rosta-Frei Steel so much better than the rest?" Well I tell you….

First of all, EVERYONE in Jamaica use this steel in their blades. Everyone say that Rosta-Frei is #1! We use Rosta-Frei Steel to cut our vegetables and fruits. We use Rosta-Frei Steel to cut our meat. We use Rosta-Frei Steel to cut our herbs in the fields. Ja Mon!

The reason why our steel cut so good is in the heat treat. We use special herbal process to treat our steel. What kind of herbs? I cannot tell you or it will not be a secret!;)

Everyday I try to give thanks. Thank you and God Bless!

Ja Mon! Sounds like you been smokin too much of your heat treating herbs mon!:p Can you send some of dem herbs up here mon,I want to try a little of dat special herbal process too mon.Tanks mon,Ralph

LMFAO!!! (This is one of the first threads that's literally made me laugh out loud in quite some time!)

Chris Reeve, Microtech, Benchmade, and all the rest of you better be takin' note, you got some serious competition here!!

Many famous maker now come to Jamaica for their steel. Here is small sample:

Chris Reeve came to our island for vacation last year. I show him one of my knives. He say "This folder is junk." Then he look closely at the blade. He could not believe it, mon. Now he say Rosta-Frei is #1!

Jerry Busse call me last spring. He say "Send me some of this Rosta-Frei Steel so I can compare it to my INFI." I send him some. Two week later he call me back. He cannot believe. This steel is better than INFI. Now he want more to make his new folding knives. Jerry Busse say Rosta-Frei is #1!

Tom Mayo was here last week. He came all the from Hawaii to see our Rosta-Frei Steel. He bring back enough to make a special new folder. He call it the TNTHC! Ja Mon! Believe it when Tom Mayo tell you that Rosta-Frei is #1. Now Tom want to make Rosta-Frei in Hawaii with his own special herbs!

The Seki City makers come to us for all their steel now. They want knife that will cut through tin can and then slice tomato. This knife never need sharpening. They call it the Ganja-su. Japanese now say Rosta-Frei is #1!

Cliff Stamp try to break Rosta-Frei Steel blade in test. Everytime he bend it the Rost-Frei just spring back like tall weed in the wind. He try to cut 1" hemp rope with this blade. He cut and cut and cut until his arm is sore. Finally after 1 million cuts Cliff Stamp give up. "This Rosta-Frei Steel is pretty good stuff," he say, "And it never seems to need sharpening probably due to the transverse grind on the lateral axis blah blah blah." That's pretty big compliment coming from Cliff!

Welcome to de forums cool breeze.Ya mon Greg,I hear whad you say mon,but it supposed to be Rasta I think.Good harvest mon. ;)

Indeed "rostfrei" is the german term for stainless, so this "rosta frei" must be... just stainless steel?

Oh mon did we need this or what.

Unless the volcaco went dormant recently (or the coconut milk suppply ran dry), I simply can't believe that line about Mayo! :p

Now, as far as dat Rosta-Frei stuff go......

PLENTY SHARP, MONN - PLENTY SHARP!!! :D

(ps: the previous techincal name was Marley Metal!:p)

That's a good one Mr. Tom Anderson!:D I have another story about you that one have to wait. More important is some history.

The Rosta-Frei Steel has been around for very long time. Knife expert Bernard Levine has many pieces of the early work. The oldest one dates from about 1920 and has cannibus Micarta handle. He says it worth almost three thousand dollars in today's street value and definitely is most authentic example of early cannibus use.

Here at Rosta-Frei we try to come up with improvement all the time. We have try hot roll, cold roll, Russian snow roll, egg roll, all KINDS of rolling to come up with a better blade steel. Mostly we end up eating or sleeping but that another story….One thing we try is pattern welding steel. We ask Bruce Evans of the Bladeforums.com how we could get more patterns in the steel. He just smile and suggested something little stronger than what we been rolling! Ja Mon!

The customer satisfaction is most important thing here at Rosta-Frei Steel. We ask everyone who own Rosta-Frei products what matters to them the most. They want a blade that will chop, cut, slice, dice, puree, liquefy, and drain. I don’t know, maybe they need blender…..They want to shave arm hair, leg hair, head hair and pubic hair…I tell them to lay off the Rosta-Frei for a little while if they think of shaving pubic hair! That's why Rosta-Frei is #1, we take care of our customer!

At Rosta-Frei we are most proud of our innovative lock. We call it the Dread Lock (copywrited, so watch out!) This amazing lock work so good you can hang 2000 kilo "package" from it with no failure whatsoever. Just watch your fingers if you hang one more gram on there because at 2000 kilos plus one gram the knife finally exhibited catastrophic failure! That why we call it the "dread lock" because you never know….Ja Mon. We still #1, even Benchmade never beat that one!

Say there Rosta-Mon you fellers ever think of makin' one of them there kukri's maybe call it "The Ganja Ghurka" or how about something long and wispy with a double edged blade and call it "The Thai Sticker" or maybe a two blade folder "The Double Doobie"..........OHHHHHH MONNNNNNNN

Excuse me Mr. RostaFrei, but considering you're the president of the company, I don't find your testimonials very convincing. I mean, you're not exactly impartial. You're not making this up, are you???

So I guess it would be safe to say that your steel falls under the
category of pot metal. :D Get it POT metal Im here all week folks
Call me now for your free readin:)

Hey mon - is da Dread Lock patented? Mebbe we should send da Dread Lock® to Sal Glesser (a very cool mon to boot) so he can put it on his lock breaking machine to see how it goes up against da Compression, Axis, and Rolling locks. Wat do you say mon?

:D

KC - hey mon dat was a real groaner :D :D

Maybe Miss Cleo can read the tarot cards to see if we will see more Rosta-Frei steel and Dread Lock® in the production knife industry?? :D

I gotta stop talkin' like dis mon. Who ever you are, thanks for the great laugh :)
