Rough Rider & Related Slipjoints

I've never had a problem with a Rough Rider, (or any other brand, for that matter) so I cannot speak from experience on anyone's warranty service.
I've heard that SMKW (they own the RR brand) will replace the knife if the buyer is not happy with it.

I get if its badly made that you'd want it replaced when you got it

but a life time warranty for a $10 MIC knife

really?

You know... This Rough Rider thread has been one of my favorite threads from the porch over the years and it's still going.

So, I got a little bit of a fun GAW that I'm going to bury into this thread! For those who join in, I think the prize will really tickle you, and I encourage you to tell your buddies who regularly participate in this thread to play along.

The rules:
1. Must have at least 5 or more posts in the Rough Rider thread
2. YOU MUST exactly type into your entry "Glennbad RR GAW I'm in" which will be your entry
3. If you own and post a Glennbad modded knife you get 2 entries no matter what

Note I'm using rule #2 to search for the final participants of the gaw so make sure you include it in your entry. Also might be good to bump the thread and reply with a quote so other members get to see it and play.

The prize? Yes indeedy, a one of one special request by me and the only Rough Rider knife that I know in existence whose covers and action were fixed up by the forum's very own Glennbad.

I had ordered some bone linen micarta for this project. The knife came out beautiful!

However I have come to learn over the years that smaller trads like the RR half whittler is what I like to carry vs the larger framed knives. This improved muskrat model is larger framed and has a really awesome blade combo, clip and wharnie. But alas, it gets no carry time.

I do hope the winner gets to EDC it, my only ask is that you don't sell or trade it and pass it onto to another bf member if you find that it's not for you. Let's play!

That is a great knife and a cool idea for a GAW.
Thank you for the chance. :)

This is one of my favorite threads, too, and one of the few I'm subscribed to. :)

@glennbad does great work! I always wanted to try one of those improved muskrat / hawbakers but they seem to be scarce now.

Thanks for the chance!

"Glennbad RR GAW I'm in"

Interesting idea to bury the GAW in the thread. I read this thread daily and have a few pictures posted. Thank You

Glennbad RR GAW I'm in

What the heck, I'm sure I have over five posts in this thread! Funny thing about the Muskrat -- I do like that pattern but I'm a bit "confused" by the two identical blades. I have a RR Muskrat in strawberry bone and the fit and finish is absolutely excellent. It's so fine in fact that I enjoy carrying and handling it despite my "confusion". (The confusion being that I'm never sure which of the identical blades to use first. ) I've never seen an Improved Muskrat in person but I wouldn't mind a chance to handle one, and that's a superb model you have there.
