Rough Rider & Related Slipjoints

Looks like Rough Rider has a pretty sweet Moose pattern out now. It looks a lot like my Case Classic.

...On the other hand, I'm not so sure of this Marbles "Workman Series Trapper" with fixed ball peen hammer.

I'm not really a fan of "Lady Leg" knives, but this Large Lady Leg is pretty sleek, I like the shape of the blade, and it has a nice swedge. It's five inches long, closed.

I think this is the first time I've ever quoted myself. I was just thinking that it would be great if Rough Rider would use this blade in a toothpick pattern.

SMKW has been running an ad on their home page featuring a Boker-like RR Trapperlock for a couple weeks now, but I can't seem to find it elsewhere on their site. That's gonna be my next one.

I asked about where the Toad Sticker is made because recently i bought 2 RR fixed blades. These are the only RR knives i am not impressed with. The blade grinds are far too thick to be a useable blade. They were made in Pakistan, so now i know that not all RR's are well made knives from China.

still cant knock my lil RR Barlow
after carrying this awhile, its been putting many of my more expensive knives to shame.

Rsmith: How's the opening on that Barlow? The one I have is a real nail-buster so I don't carry it much, but I'd like to. If yours is smooth I may try another one - I really like Barlows.

no nailbuster here. smooth opening and closing
its my only rough rider so i dont know if i got a good one or *shrugs*

I've been carrying my RR Copperhead for about a week now. Great knife, no issues. I have found RR to be a very good value, and have several. I even bought one of the SMKW grab bags of seconds a few years ago, and even though they were seconds, there wasn't a bad one in the bunch.

Who is a good online retailer for Rough Rider that carries a close to complete catalog of their knives? I have been buying ebay but would like to see a larger complete catalog to pick from.

thanks

Maybe one of our members can provide a BF member/dealer link here. Others should be via private message or email.

Thanks for the help! FYI just picked up a large Trapper in gunstock. WOW! Might be my favorite pattern to date followed by they canoe.

I got a Toad Sticker! It's a fun knife for sure. On the box is written: "The Long Bladed Toad Sticker is a rare and highly collectible creature. Its long , sleek handle and blade are remiscent of the knife patterns of yesteryear - the kind you just don't see these days. That makes the Rough Rider(tm) Long Bladed Toad Sticker the perfect addition to any collection.:

Have any info on that fish knife? I really like the looks of it, especially with the leather lanyard you have put on it. I'm curious about that ball bearing type thing at the bottom...Also, why is there jimping all the way down the spine? I never got that.
