Rough Rider & Related Slipjoints

Robin.....this sodbuster is a good using tool....I make "pants" for them and give them away to my budz...that is, the ones I know that will use them....
These folks appreciate a gift...and they don't care where it was made, as long as it can cut.

I don't care much for your knife, but that sheath is a nice piece of work. I imagine your deserving friends are glad to receive the combo...

I took delivery on these about a week apart...$7.50 plus ship. for one, $10 plus ship for the other.
Notice the two different shields....must be made across town from each other.

I have been making some belt pouches for the bigger RR knives as well, one of these days I'll post some pics of my leather work. RR seems to be using a couple of new shields lately, my personal fav are the yellow comps with the old federal shield which always seems to be very cleanly inlaid. I've sold about 5 of the sodbusters and so far everyone likes them.
Best regards

Robin

Robin, are you referring to like #31 post of this thread? If so, yeah, I like them too. Wish they would put out a yellow comp. sodbuster like Case does...great knife to play around with.
I look forward to seeing your leather work.

I spoke too soon Robin! Search the bay for yellow sodbuster and RR has a Jr. on there with the shield you were talkin bout...I think....I'd send ya link but I see that's frowned upon here...

You can send it via PM or email. No harm, no foul. ;)

I just got hold of 1 of their Old Yellow Doctor's knives, single blade.
Very well inlaid shield indeed, and overall the pins and scales are fine, good snap,no gaps and sharp. About 12 USD including shipping to the EU from the US.I'd like to see what their Sodbusters are like myself.

The stocckman I bought for the Yankee Swap, I originally thought I bought a whittler,
I keep taking it out and looking at it. Tortouse could be better but it looks nice I'll have to say. I like the gunstock bone.I may get a sowbelly. If they made the gunstock in a wood I would definately pull the trigger.

yellow reverse gunstock stockman is awesome:thumbup: I carry it more than my Case delrin CV:eek: I see that RR is coming out with more yellow scale patterns. I got a look at some of their stag stuff. Wow! Looks good for $19.99.

No wonder I didn't recognize it. I feel the rain and I get wet.PBS had a thing on him with his early stuff. It was very good.

Those bone soddies look good on the RR's.Are these tomorrows collector pieces today?

I have a few and I think they are great value for the money. I have gifted more than I currently have on hand to non-knife people who think they are the cat's meow for the most part. I tell them that they are just a inexpensive knife but most folks love them and ask about other knives...hopefully I have started a few on the same path many of us follow.

What's that monster in the 3rd row down, middle area?

Like that Scout knife, I have one in Amber and been very pleased with it as a practical user knife.

That big one you mentioned looks an awful lot like a large copperlock willgoy. The Scout looks like a Case also.

The monster was included in a bunch of seconds I ordered from Smokey Mountain, it is a single blade hunter, they call it a large coke bottle pattern. 5 1/4 inches closed.

I have somewhere in the neighborhood of fifty RR's and I like them all. I've also given several to friends and everyone has liked them. They are my second favorite (of the Chinese made) knives, my favorite being Kissing Crane.

Actually, RR's are in a tie for second with the U.S. Classics. I don't know how long any of them would hold up under heavy use or abuse, but they are sure pretty to look at.
