As I suspected, you have not given me a tracking # as promised and your continued emails (which I have) assuring me that the knife would be at my door no later than 4-5 days after I bought it. You are without a doubt a liar and of low class. I speak only for myself....take your BS somewhere else. I've stopped payment with my CC bank. This will probably be moved to GB&U, although you need to be and have been exposed.
 
What was the original date of purchase and date the knife was supposed to ship?

EDIT: just read the original as I was typing when the last comment was made. I personally don't like the guys business practices and fishy behaviour, but it seems to me that this may be a bit soon. It was stated that it would ship on jan 17, and take 4-5 days, it is now jan 22. So that's only 5 days including the weekend. I agree tracking should be provided but this does seem a bit early yet.

I agree Shane and I'm sure that the knife is likely somewhere between the two continents at the moment. As I stated I felt it was a bit early to panic, but would never buy from the guy myself. Maybe it's just too hectic around the shop in Oregon to email a tracking number. What with hand making multiple folders and fixed blades every day, out of Damascus that you also made yourself. I know I would have trouble getting to emails.

He is clearly not an individual knifemaker. I alerted mods a long time ago but I got no response.

I was waiting for his review as well, nothing yet. Woody emailed me when he got the knife delivered.

We know, and it was discussed at length by many of us. Don't want you guys to think your concerns go unnoticed or unappreciated. Any concerns that are relayed are always looked into and discussed.
 
There is no definite proof that he is not an American knifemaker, even though I agree he is almost certainly an importer and/or embellisher of Pakistani knives.

Either way, we need to wait to see how things play out. Maybe posting more details and/or emails would be helpful. Has anyone gotten in contact with RR informing him of this thread?
 
Ok here is the quick review of what I received from RR. Nice file work, poor fit and finish on the handle, would not shave hair out of the box, rope test, cut 5 times through 5/8" manila before to dull to cut any more, sharpened up quickly but bevels uneven, leather sheath was very thin, almost like the fake vinyl leather. I didn't get a confirmation # either but the priority mail box was well packed and arrived from Boise, Id.. It had the return address of My Elk Call.com. That is why I left him a positive feedback. The package arrived quickly, as described, nice looking, isn't take what feed back is for? As for the product,well, a waste of materials wouldn't have to rely on it if it came to that. Sorry for not putting up feedback on this but had a computer crash on got a new one. Does the phrase "can't teach an old dog new tricks" ring true?

Appears the complaint here was about shipping. I think it's a little too soon to cry foul. It was supposed to ship on 1/17, and since then we've had one federal holiday and bad weather across the country. Hopefully, the knife will be delivered today or soon hereafter.

Obviously there are significant concerns about quality/materials/origin. But those seem separate to me from the initial complaint here. Hopefully bones555 will have the knife soon and will be able to do a full review on it.

That doesn't read like a person who cares a lot about their grammatical presentation. What does that suggest? Notice RR's post, whoever that is they capitalized all their words. That's another clue... I'll leave it at that.

One thing I do before I buy anything from anyone online is observe if they are exhibiting signs of transparency. If they seem allusive, personally I walk away. I looked at their website and they don't specifically say where they are located, as in an address. I look for a telephone number, none. Is this entity located in a trust based regulated economy, or central Asia?

You need to be careful when dealing with some foreign entities. You also need to make sure they actually are who they say they are. Do these people actually have operations in Idaho or Oregon like they claim? I have my doubts... Where is the IP address of this poster located?
