RTAK Type knife

Its the best chopper I have. That belly IS the sweet spot :)

I'd be curious to know the projected time frame to production. I can see it's a long way off, but are we looking at at year? Two years?

Hey we are slipping away again. Gotta keep this page up front as a reminder for a RC chopper.

I've been holding off on picking up a chopper for the last month, waiting for this to happen. Let's go, boys! Daddy needs a new hunk o' metal!

I could not wait any more, I had Justin (Ranger Knives) make me one, should be in early next week. Dimensions are 12inch blade, 18 in. overall, 2-2.5 in. wide, 0.25 thick , 5160 steel. Cant wait for it! I also bought a RD9, last week, but had to return it to Ontario (they were cool about it, had chipped blade). But I CAN'T WAIT for RC to come out with a chopper. I'm gonna get a couple of those, like all others. I'm sure its gonna be awhile though before they come out. Patience is not one of my virtues, but loyalty is.

Traitor.

:D

I have a trunk full of big choppers, RTAK, RTAK II, Beckers, Rangers, Busses, Scrap Yards, Swamp Rats, Condors, etc. I have used them all. When I have some real work to get done, I break out the machetes. If you make a RC RTAK, just slim down the handle some and keep the blade at 3/16" or less. Thin blades chop just fine, and a light knife is less tiring for extended use.

Regardless of what I buy, I carry my favorites every day, to have them close to me at all times, my favorite knives are the RC4 and Izula AND I CARRY THEM EVERY DAY !! ;)
I would use a RC chopper if they made one. I do have a RC6, but its far from a chopper. That leaves me to go else where, Justin (Ranger Knives) makes great knives, just like RC. I know he makes custom order knives, and I bought one from him (I should have it next week & I cant wait!!). I also cant wait for RC to make a chopper. Now if RC made custom knives to order, then that would be a different story. Imagine a RC Custom Knife, aahhh, maybe we should ask, huh??
I know you guys are kidding and I don't take anything to heart, I'm sure everyone has something other than RC in their safes, tool box, etc. Hey, Jeff (one of the owners) has a Sure Fire EDC knife. What happened to his Rat Cutlery Knives as EDC???

 I’m still dreaming about Rat Cuterly Custom Knives...aaahhh...20 inch drop point blade, 1/4 inch thick, spiked pommel..ah... or a 1/4 RC 4 EESE version with a kydex sheath...OH...ahh...I need to wake up from this fantasy world.
I would love to see a Rat Cutlery line of RC, Izula and EESE models, each have the same style with different lengths only. Izula 2-4, RC 3-12, EESE 4-12 , each model made with the same style and thickness but just in different lengths. So you would have a RC models @ 1/8 inch AND 5/32 thick from 3 inches to 12 inches, Izula 5/32 at 2-4 inches and the 1/4 inch EESE models from 4,5,6,8,10 & 12 inches, I would buy them all. Any variation of this would be cool, because they would offer more knives to have fun with. Boy, I really need to wake up and stop dreaming!

It's coming. Last thing I heard on it was "Later this year." Can't wait.

When did you hear that about "later this year..." ? I would expect it would be after the HEST (and their holiday shutdown) models and hopefully before the clip point models, so figure sometime in the fall:o with any luck, not winter:(, or next spring :mad:or next year:grumpy:, that's too far away. BTW, thanks for bringing back this thread:thumbup:!
