Rubber handled 171UH?

It was reported somewhere, and if I can find the article I will post it, that at the time Smith and Wesson put out the Texas bowie they were not manufacturing knives themselves, and it was only after 3-4 models later that S&W started their own manufacture of knives.

I saw a couple of these S&W Texas ranger bowies sell on ebay in the last few days, one for about $200 US and the other about $162 US today. I would have paid about $130 but anyway photos show lots of differences. Very nice knife though. I think they come with the high gloss mirror finish???

I bought the last one of these sold on ebay a couple months ago, It has Schrade pro molded into the rubber handle
