Thanks for the opportunity to get a chance to try this knife but I unfortunately will need to bow out. My broken foot is a pretty nasty break and I will be laid up for at least another 6 weeks at best so I don't feel I could contribute anything worthwhile and I don't want to slow down the process.

Seriously, I feel bad for you, my wife got her foot crushed in a MC accident and it was very painful for her.
And keep in mind guys that with sport show season on us, I have no days off from this coming Monday until Superbowl Sunday, so best put me towards the rear.

I've broken my feet a couple of times and even filleted one once. I know what you're going through. Heal (heel?) quickly and completely. Don't mess around and fight the pain for the rest of your life. Like I am.

Getting jazzed about having this one in had; not the first Protourist design that I have had before he and SHMBO had the knife themselves....quite an honor I must say.

Yeah, kinda. I opened my big mouth so I have to wait but it ain't gonna be easy.
This is getting tan micarta. I plan on getting a lot of hunting done this year and tan will fit my plans well. It's also pretty well indestructible.
I can't wait to get your opinion. Your photos are almost as good as your taste in blades.

This beauty has landed in the cornfields of Illinois - I carefully cut open the package from John with my AG Russell Acies, and then laid the XXL out on the counter to warm up to room temperature.
Initial impression is that it is a good sized knife, and it exhibits John's attention to detail and excellent fitting of the scales. I look forward to using the knife this week!
Tomorrow I'll set it up and take some glamour shots before I start cutting up some Filets later in the afternoon.

Glad it arrived. USPS did there usual fine job again. I shipped three packages on Tuesday. One to Kentucky and one to Michigan, and they both arrived in two days. This one, staying in Illinois, took three days. They just raised shipping costs and their service got worse.
