Rule #9 XXL World Tour 2016

Really interested to see how the 7inch version works, I thought it may be too long, I guess the proof is in the pudding. I would think a 5 inch one would be more handy. Go forth and let us learn!!

I absolutely love that picture of it. Thanks, Andy!!!

The filet roll will be cut up on Monday evening as we did not get out to buy the roll today, but we had a great day nonetheless!

I set up for some pictures, not happy with the lighting etc yet, but getting set up so I can do some more shots tomorrow - Maggie works and I have all day to play with knives and the camera!

I got out my modified Rule #9 to take side-by side shots -

As you can see - the XXL has much more blade, and the same fine handle as it's predecessor just a tad longer in the handle.

The XXL has a forward balance point, due to the longer blade, but the handle is plenty large for my large/xtra-large borderline hands.

Couldn't help putting a gun in the picture - this is a Colt Mustang XSP.

I notice the extended tang is a little more extended than on my RN9 - that would be welcome when one were in need of a pry-tool....

More pictures and fun to come - great knife!

She's certainly going to be a handful. Definitely a fighter not a lover.

Compared to Cooper's Crooked Creek - almost identical length - both great knives!

Hey heef - your pictures will be perfect - and the story better! I wonder what kind of patina Louisiana Hot Sauce leaves behind?? I love that stuff, BTW - and Tabasco as well.

As is typical for a knife review in the mqqn house, we cut up the obligatory beef tenderloin roll this evening - the RN9X did well - I will leave more commentary for the review post, but I was able to do some fine cutting with the nice pointy tip - easy to get it under the silver skin. Worked very well on this extra large roll! Thanks to my photographer, Maggie, for the excellent action shots!

XXL was what was needed for this roll - it was a big one! The RN9X handled it well -

I wiped it off quickly to minimize the formation of patina - but I had to have one victory shot!

Great knife, Mack!
