Russ Andrews, part 2

The fittings are first rate, the handle is just a stunning piece of ivory and Kevin's spot-on about the escutcheon - the perfect finishing touch on this piece.

Keith,
This one came together wonderfully, what a great looking Bowie.
I like everything about it too.
The clamshell and the escutcheon are wonderful embellishments and only add to the beauty of this fine knife.

Great work Russ!

You must be delighted with your new pride and joy,Keith.
And I hope the drool gets wiped off before it arrives. :D

Man o man o man o man! I got the chance to gaze upon and examine this knife today! Keith... you WILL be one happy guy! An amazingly huge knife, yet very lively in feel. Congrats!

All I have to say is... " NOW THAT'S A KNIFE " just beautiful.

Hopefully others that go to the Chicago show will be giving us their thoughts on this knife. All opinions welcome.

I saw this knife at the show.Excellent piece, much better in person the the pics, talk about a nice hand rubbed finish!Keith,I think you will be very happy when you get your hands on it! congratulations

Keith,

I was COMPLETELY blown away by that piece. Look for pics and impressions tomorrow. Neither Russ' pics nor mine remotely capture the visual impact of that piece, though I'm sure Coop's will come as close as can be hoped. ;)

Roger

Well, I can tell that it's not only gorgeous, it's a sharp and pointy mutha.

Keith, this knife is HUGE! The quality of the fittings and overall feel defies any photo, no matter how good.

That said, I gave it my best. I took a shot of that guard for an inset and I had every mirror in the world illuminating the metal. You'll see. :D

Like all of us, you are going to be happily impressed. He tells me he still has to make a sheath for it. Tick, tock, tick, tock......... ;)

Great to finally meet Russ in person.

Coop

Keith, I'll make one more comment on this one. While I don't know exactly what you are paying for it, I can guarantee you're getting the bargain of a lifetime, my friend.

I'm sure you are right my friend.

Once again, I would like to thank Steven for his input on this knife. His suggestion definitely helped in making it turn out the way it did.

Roger gave me permission to borrow the photos he took of my knife at the Chicago show. Thanks Roger. I figured they would go well in this thread.

The first one shows Russ holding the knife.

This one shows my knife between a large pateern welded, blackwood handled hunter and an ironwood handled Hawthorne Bowie.

Note the bandaid on Russ's finger; further proof of exactly how sharp and pointy that bowie is. ;) :)
