RyanW Turner SanMai Chopper WIP

Ryan, that looks outstanding! Thanks for the WIP, lots of good stuff. I love how the dark wood ties everything together, the etching, hamon (if that is what it is still called with SanMai), and brute de forge!

Just awesome!
Thanks Justin! I think the handle material worked out great as well!

Wow!

Absolutely beautiful stuff.

I need to drool over this some more!
Thanks Thom, luckily I don't have to witness the Drool in person! :p

I think your work is outstanding. Very cool handle.
Andy I really appreciate that, Been a fan and customer of yours for quite a while!

this one is posted up for sale in Exchange. thanks for all the comments!

AWESOME thread and awesome finished product. Thank you for sharing.

Ryan I am new to knife making as you can tell from my join date. I have been researching and gathering materials to make a forge and anvils, but have yet to embark on my first knife. Yours is by far one of the best put together work in progress threads I have found. I was interested to see it all coming together.

I had planned to start with some recycled material but have quickly found a large amount of discouraging information. This being laminated from old chain was awesome. I know I'm late to the party but thanks for you efforts!

I missed this one first time around, so a nice necro for me, at least. Nice to see this one come together. Definitely a great WIP, and I like the idea of the alignment pins. That will make my life easier :)

Here's a few more WIP's that I have bookmarked that you might appreciate as well, although you probably shouldn't necro them also...
