S&W/Taylor Cutlery Darrel Ralph Collaborations

I just got off the phone with Taylor Cutlery. They are made in Taiwan and suggested retail is $56.00

I hope these are of similar construction to the Paragee, which is also made in Taiwan. If so they will have a winner.

Holy %&*#! $56.00 SRP?? That means a street price of maybe $35-$40 from the net dealers? I'll definitely have to check one of these out when they're available.

Thought ya'll might want to know that Taylor Cutlery licensed the S&W name before S&W firearms sold out to the feds with their agreement to limit sales of firearms. To say the least, for years the S&W knives were a low quality knockoff brand run by free enterprise "pirates" while the guns still were a high quality firearm produced by politicians/managers. Now Taylor has matured enough to honestly deal with makers/designers and produces quality knives for the price. If they continue to deal honestly with makers like Darrel they will do well and serve the knife community well in the process.

I got a FL1 today. Fit and finish are excellent for a knife that retails for $56. The lockup is excellent and it fits my hand like a glove. S&W states the knife uses 440c. The blade is marked simply 440, with no indication of A,B, or C.

My initial impression is quite favorable. I have wanted Camillus to make a 4" EDC. This looks like it may be as close as I'm likely to get.

Cool, Dennis! Don't just tell us, provide some visual stimulants AND some narratives :D That's a terrible pic of it in that issue of Blade. Can't see squat about the handle and blade lines

I'll post a clip side pic this evening. It is set up for tip down carry and uses the same clip as the other HRT series.

They should be filtering down to the dealers now. It wont be long till these are readily available.

Pretty Cool . . . only wish they had gone the route of the EDC and Paragee with a stonewash finish!! Oh well . . . can't have everything! (Unless you buy custom that is!);)

I also would have preferred a stonewash finish. This beadblast isn't very aggressive though.
