S90V or S125V Military sprint run.

I would prefer the paramilitary model. It's already a compression lock, and I like the size/shape better.

Improving the steel would be nice but honestly I think making the mili and para fully ambi, adjustable for tip up/tip down and offering the knife with a lock other then the liner would make the most people happy.

mili2: s125v, compression lock or maybe the improved ball bearing lck, four position clip, wave, that would be totally awesomeand I think resolve most of the issues that have kept folks from buying the mili.
oh yeah, did I mention I would like to see some caoyote brown scales;-)>

I'd rather see the Native get an overhaul over the Millie.

Colored FRN Native in S125V/S90V. :)

S125V Native sprint is already in the works. This thread is RE a S90V/S125V Military sprint.

Hey, so when on the S90V Military? I'll buy it yesterday (just as it's currently designed, but with that S90V blade).

I'd like to see a new lock instead of a different steel. I would prefer either a frame lock or the compression lock.

Yep, get rid of that damn liner lock and put on the new super steel oh yeah and don't forget the wave and the brown g10;-)>
Oh yeah and ya know its got to be ambi.
If you can't make real changes in a sprint run then I would agree with the others who recommend the para mil.
I still want to see a military 2 though;-)>

I have to say that I am surprised at the low levels of interest here so far. It seems like there is more interest in a Military 2, coming from the Anti-Linerlock Society.

As with the Lum ZDP sprint, a Military sprint run in S90V or S125V would not involve re-engineering the knife with new scale material or new lock type. Is anyone interested in a Military (as is) with one of these more exotic CPM steels? We could probably get different colour G10, but otherwise it would be a standard Military - or a Paramilitary if that is what everyone wants.

I think I'll start a new thread on a Military 2. ;)

Military as is is fine, I would love one as per your suggestion Carlos..

Handle color? dunno, but seeing as it's the Military it could only be black, tan or olive.

Carlos, Personally I am not thrilled with S90V so I wouldn't be excited over any model offered in this steel. Alot of us here already have 1 or more Military's which may also be why not a ton of interest.

Hi Ed,

Really, there is no problem if there is no interest. If anything, knowing that could save Spyderco the costly mistake of a manufacturing run of expensive knives that no one wants.

Would you care to elaborate on why you don't like S90V? Any thoughts on S125V?

All I want is a carbon fiber Military, S30V or S90V or S125V, any way is fine.

I am far more interested in the new steels than the Military model, which I never really had a big desire for. I looked at this thread because of the steel mentioned, not the knife. I am also currently more interested in the possibility of a BG42 knife, although I also want to try s90v. I don't know anything about s125v.

Edit:
I would still be interested (as in "would buy it") in a Paramilitary, as I have been thinking about one of those for a while anyway. But, if Spyderco were to choose one thing over another, I would rather see the BG42 little temperance project happen first.

Yes, Sir; I would. I really like the Military and there's nothing wrong with S30V, of course. From my experience I've found S90V so be very, very dense (therefore durable) and able to take a wicked edge. Some say that it's harder to sharpen which may be true, but I sharpen by hand with meticulous care and I find it no more or less difficult than anything else. I just love the very dense nature of S90V (or 420V).

Ok, time for my two cents worth. I would (WILL) buy a S125V Millie (or Para if it goes that way). I would prefer that the scales be a color other than black (or blue); however if offered, I will buy one regardless of handle color.

It sounds logical that the reason for low interest in a sprint run of the Millie with S125V might be that many of us own one - or more. I have had four - a 440V that was worked hard for about three years and lost, a replacement 440V that I gave to my son when he lost his Endura, an S30V that I used for about a year, then gave to a friend deploying to Iraq, and now its replacement, an S30V that I have had for about a year and which I rotate thru my EDC along with my Para, S30V Native and now that damned beautiful (and way sharp) ZDP 189 Caly.

Carlos - get that Millie two thread going - I don't want to hijack this one, and my fingers are biting at the keyboard :D

I guess thats obvious, huh? :)

Chuck
