I changed the title a little as I don't want this to decline into a trashing thread for Modders or CRK as I do mods and have a couple of Sebenzas so...

I'm seein' that some folks like this mod and I don't want to bash or put down people who are willing to mod their knives I just am not a fan of random mods that serve no purpose not even aesthetic. Any other really ugly mods out there? (Be nice, beauty and funtionality are subjective)

I'm with the "not for me" crowd, but more for the fact that the holes just seem "off" aesthetically.
I can't do graphic design, but I know when things just don't seem to have balance.

I guess I don't understand the purpose of this thread. You started it so you could essentially cause a gangpile of agreement with your assessment that the modded Sebenza you posted is ugly. Frankly, I don't know why this thread is in General.

I don't really like it, but then I think the Sebenza is a pretty ugly knife in general so I don't think it really looks worse, either.

I don't think you could do anything to make the Wal-Mart Ozark Trails g10 flipper look good, but here's the mods I did tonight:

Swoopy clip, removed flipper, rounded butt, mirror edge.

Tom Mayo drills his holes in a way that exhibits symmetry and purpose. I find his patterns aesthetically pleasing. The modded Sebenza in the first post, not so much. The work does look to have been competently executed. De gustibus non est disputandum.

Tom Mayo started his knife making career modding Sebenzas. I remember it well. When he first began making knives they were ~$400. Heck, it wasn't very long ago when Laconico was there.
This knife very well could be an early Tom Mayo mod. Usually though he replaced/altered the thumb lug as well. If it were mine I would shoot Mr. Mayo a pic and see. Ugly or not, somebody may pay big bucks for it if that were the case.

Why does this matter? It's somebody's knife and personal expression within it, leave it at that. So much regression on this site as of late.

Saw this on a FB page, someone's sellin' a modded Sebenza. Now I'm all for mods and even on high end knives but this is one ugly mod.

I like it so much that I am getting a small Seb. and a large Seb's done more or less close to that by a good friend of mine that mods CRK's down in Fl. ~~ I sent him an email with pic's already and he said send them on.! I love the way that one on here looks !** Can't wait.^^
