Sacrilege, Sebezabuse or Really Cool? Closed

To each his own, William Shakespeare said it best in Love's Labours Lost: “Beauty is bought by judgment of the eye.”

If it's your knife you are free to do what you want:) However, if I was going to modify a knife it would most definitely NOT be a large regular Sebanza!

Speed holes. Makes the knife cut faster. :D

I was rather indifferent to the knife yesterday, but now it's kinda growing on me. I'm liking it better than it's original condition. To me it looks very "aero-spacey" (yeah, that's a word). If I had it I'd definitely carry it.

So whoever got me in the Bladeforums secret Santa this year, now you know what to buy me. I'll be eagerly awaiting my gift.

Go ahead and pm me your address you want it sent to.

Then PayPal me 600.00 bucks as my Christmas gift and we're all set:p

As someone that likes minimalism(i.e. form follows function) the sebbie is a nice knife to begin with. While not totally fugly, those mods look less than planned out. Calling something like that sacrilege is a bit over the top. The Sebenza while not cheap is supposed to be used and will get marked up anyway, so maybe mistakes were made

I'm kinda with Killgar and Marcinek, and whomever suggested it might have been a repair/mod De gustibus non est disputandum. (In matters of taste there is no argument (or disussion)). I can see where the "skeletonizing" was going, but it should have been done with an odd number of holes. There obviously was an effort to use alternate sizes (maybe the slot was some holes that went awry. Bookending with the same size would have helped. It just looks like they put it in the drill press without a completely mapped out idea of what was being done. IF it wasn't intentional, we all make mistakes. Maybe he's selling it to buy another an get the mods right?

Somebody thought that this was a good design and signed off on it. And so did their bosses?!!!

I don't think it's worth getting one's knickers in a knot. Getting pissed off because someone did something you don't like is a very futile way to go through life.

Doesn't the Sebenza come balanced in the hand? The holes might lighten too much. I generally prefer decreasing radius holes in a straight line or same radius but a swoop or curve to it. Nothing wrong with modding but there's good design and bad design. Fibonacci ratios define beauty.

Maybe sacrilage is a strong word, it's not like he took a dremel to an H.H. Frank knife.

You got me there, I was just givin' my opinion and was curious if it was just me. I will admit that I'm quite enamored with the Sebenza. Bein' a Tradesman, (machinist bein' one of many) I can appreciate the precision and Quality Control necessary to consistently put out a knife with such tight tolerances and not just make it and stop there but continually improve on it.

I'm a big fan of FOS (Factory Original Stock) when it comes to things engineered. Like I've said before I'm not opposed to mods of any kind but I'm not fond of useless random mods done just for the sake of sayin' "I just took a dremel and a drill to my knife, wadda ya think?". It needs to add something either aesthetically or functionally otherwise if I'm asked what I think I'm goin' to be honest and that's all I'm lookin' for, an honest opinion not a fight. :)

Weren't they listed as the worst new vehicle, I know they were riddled with problems but for some reason people buy them to say they own one, they've become a curiosity in certain car collecting circles. :)

Believe me, if you know me, it ain't easy to get my knickers in a knot so there's no anger on my side toward anyone here, my knickers are knot free rest assured. ;)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Now this I like, it's aesthetically pleasing to my eye. :) proving once again that Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ;)

Bubba knife-modding at its finest. Dremels have created as many problems as they've solved.

Breaking bad rocked, Walt could have drove a tricycle and been bad as hell.
