Sad BK5:

Sorry if telling you that you should use it then come back and bash it triggered you to start name calling, but this isn't on me. You have problems fella. Doesn't matter how long you've been trolling here.

there will be multiple infractions issued

the rest of you stop piling on

I'm sorry. I'll edit that post... Please accept my deepest and most sincere apology.

I would post a screen shot of the visitor message he was kind enough to leave me, but I don't want to get banned for posting that kinda language on the open forum.

infractions and warning are being issued... classic.

"mang" might be considered racist slang as well. that carries a high penalty.

I've been a member for several years, and this has been my first infraction. I apologize.

It's impossible for Seattleiteians to be racist in such a PC culture
IBTL

There are plenty of rough neighborhoods where PC is not the law of the land, but I see where you're coming from. Overall it's a fantastically diverse and culturally rich city. Just don't root against the 'Hawks, your safety would not be guaranteed.

Not even going to weigh in on the trolling. Bladite's covered it.

Regarding the 5 though, let's remember that the knife was designed and tweaked for Ka-Bar by none other than Jerry Fisk.
The man has forgotten more about knives than most of us know.

I wouldn't mind seeing a 1/4" bk5. Use the bk5 wisely though and sure you could get away with moderate abuse, and IT IS A SLICING MACHINE. As dubs said, like BK9 better. Kabar making more .22-.25" thick blades think would be great on 7"+ long blades. .22" BK 7 or 9 think would be neat. Kabar almost 100% of the time puts a nice grind on their knives so sure would not fail with making THICK blades slicable. I think they very much succeeded with the 20 in that regard.

Davey, slow your roll, don't be so defensive, why not just buy a 9, 20 ect if want durability?

Thanks for posting that link up Guyon, been while since I've seen that. youTube also had the BK5 sharpening video to the side. Excellent videos.

I recon we or'da tell Mr. Fisk he's wrong about his design because this guy said so.

I'm amazed at the cool levelness of most people here. BKs are a cool bunch, on other places this guy's e-head would have been on an e-spike since probably his 3rd post. Damn, I blink and there's drama!

BTW, the 5 is a fine knife imho, no need for extra thickness. As a comparison, the Ontario SP5 is a 1/4" FFG blade, and the 5 runs circles around it. I quit that "quarter inch is better" mentality a while ago, and while it works for some knives, it doesn't work for all knives.
