Nothing too crazy. Just a new Vic Ranger and a set of red linen Micarta scales. I’m intrigued by the Ranger for my frequent camping trips. If it works out well, I may mod it further, and remove the opener layer.

One scale is finished. One more to go. The project should be completed in a couple days.

I've always thought the tweezers are a bit wimpy and short.
The pin should be supplied.

£2.50 ish for a pin is a disgrace to Switzerland for 10 pins it would only be a rip-off,

The two Compact supplied pins I have are just under 32mm and 0.59 0.63mm Best I can I make the hole in the scale 0.75mm Measured a tapered needle above the point were it stopped going in.

Not exactly a mod but... I'm waiting for some inventive bugger at victorinox to go "I know we can supply better tweezers and enough toothpicks to sanitize and pins" !

I am thinking of giving a Alox Bantam the Baba-treatment next time, but I think I will use the small blade from an Electritian instead of the caplifter. Do you think it will fit Spikediesel , even if it comes from the 92 Electritian?

They did make an 84mm RadioShack special edition with the electricians blade opposite the main blade so it is possible!

The tooth pick has never had any use for me

So instead replaced my toothpick with a "pin tool" I made with a paperclip, epoxy and a little paracord gut.

As an IT tech helps to open faulty cd/dvd drives and cell phone sim/sd slots

Sits and holds ok in the old toothpick slot

I notised that all the rivets on the Bantam are 2mm . The electritian is 3mm, but that´s fine, since I am thinking someting like a Barlow design. The back rivet will be visable, but not the one in the front...
The front is 16mm and the back is 19mm on the Bantam, but I will try to make it around 15-20 to hide the kick och the smaller but fatter blade.
