Sal: why no "assisted opening" or "flipper" Spydercos?

Not a fan of A/O. Even if Spyderco made A/O models, I don't think I'd be interested. In that case might as well go whole hog and try to get an embassy or a citadel in the secondary market. But even then It doesn't quite ring my bell.

Why would I need flippers or assisted knives if I can have Spyderhole?
Do not make things complicated if they can be simple. More complex, more possible failure modes.

I for one would very much appreciate a flipper opening Spyderco. Doesn't even need to be AO, I just love flippers.

I can't stand AOs, but flippers are just goofy fun. they don't really strike me as being congruent with spyderco's aesthetic, but I'd certainly be interested in buying one with the right materials, lock, etc.

BBL Flipper? :D

hmm I guess I will go against everyone and say I would be interested in a Spyderco Flipper. Might be pretty cool actually.
I agree, I like flippers. It wouldn't complicate things at all either, just extend the tang a little bit.

A spyderco with ao=:barf: A spyderco with a flipper= That would just be ridiculous imo. of course, just my opinion. However, I do like my kershaw groove quite a bit, but sal and co. should stick to what they do best, spyderhole opening knives.

A flipper version of the leafstorm might be interesting. Get a little fingerguard in there where the blade/handle gets iffy.

AO, no way. I strongly agree with sals decision there. A manual flipper though, thatd be pretty cool. Id be VERY excited about a flipper leafstorm.

I'd love a Spyderco flipper... Not too keen on AO though. Us overseas guys may have issues bringing them in which is why I've only had the JYD I and II as it's the only non-assisted knife they have made that interests me.
