Samuel Lurquin - A Belgian bladesmith you're going to want to know about.

Here is a short clip of the Dutch Knife Exhibition 2011, Samuel and Gustaaf are also interviewed. Have a look at those huge bowies!!

Looks like he put that Koa to good use.

It might sound dumb, but I always get a thrill when I see photos of what talented makers like Sam can do with the wood they get.

I really like the way Sam sculpted the handles and it looks like he knows what he is doing finishing the wood.
............the knives look great too!

Sam's knives kind of make me think of another maker here on the forums who's name starts with an N.
I am not meaning they are the same, or that one is better than the other.
I just like both of their clean lines, great hamons, sculpted handles and attention to the small details.

The second to last, the guardless one, is my favorite, beautiful work. I really like his leather work, to me it is a cross of custom gun holsters and fine british bridle leather. nothing worse than seeing a great knife and the guy can't do leather work but tries anyways and falls short. Not a problem here!

Great style and lines, thanks for introducing this Bladesmith to those of us that were not familiar with his work.

This reminded me of Shiva Ki but way chunkier and a whole lot humble. Keep up the good work!

Happy working Sam!
