SAR5 unpopular?

I like it... Matter of fact, I like it better than my SARSquatch.. Even more?? I am selling my SARSquatch to buy more SAR5s!!!!

I bet if they made a SAR5 FOLDER it would be popular!

Kind regards,

Jos

This is a really good thread.

Lot's of different opinions and all very civil...Nice work fellow HOGS....

I've always carried a smallish fixed blade in my Bug out Bag. Except for that week when the FBMLE first got here...:D

It was the NO-e for the longest time. It had been the JH since Blade but now I've switched to the DCDM. Why? well if something does happen here in the city that would require me to "bug out" I would likely be trapped in some sort of structure. Cutting through a door is not something I would like to do with a JH...too pretty for that. ;)

And no, I am not some crazy survivalist with thoughts as to the end of things. Just a realist who likes to be prepared. It's just like carrying concealed. You don't leave the house thinking you are going to get into some wild west shootout. You prepare for the worst and hope for the best...OK...nuff said on that.

I feel like short and stout is what I need. Small enough to stay out of the way most of the time. Big enough to cut though a door.

Which is why after sifting through my collection I have decided that the SAR5 will be put into this rotation.

In the end I guess I just like having that big wide blade in such a compact package. Now I need a Sheath...:grumpy:

Plus I like the big handle...fits my hand perfectly...:D

just my caffeine soaked opinion. nothing to see here....

I have to agree with Heavy. I carry a small fixed blade daily, but I also like to have a bigger knife in my backpack just in case. I find the SAR5 fits the bill perfectly for me. It is stout, compact, & functional. It may not be the most beautiful knife made, but it definately gets the job done.
