Sardinian thankfulness - and the winner is...

Great knife! Great food!

Family and friends, and some from far away.

We all share the joy.

The unselfishness in this place is a true treasure.

Great giveaway, Fausto! What a treat for Dan and his family, and indeed for all of us readers!
I grew up with sausages and cheese very like your gifts, around our kitchen all the time.
I am second generation Italian/Sicilian American (now Canadian).
When I feel homesick, I head out to the Italian neighborhood to bring some home. I will cut it with my Pattada next time, in honor of its Sardinian origins!

Dan,
I'm glad that you enjoyed the food as much as the knife. It's been a great chance for me to "export" a part of my traditions (both with and without a steel edge). I owe alot to this place and to the people I met here. The knife giveaway was born for this reason. The rest...well, I can't hide my roots (nor do I want to), and here (as in many parts of my country) sharing food and wine would complement sharing anything else...including a knife.
I really really appreciated your enthusiasm in receiving the whole package, and the fact that you shared the whole thing with your family. It was, indeed, a gift from a distant friend, no matter we've never met in person. Yet.

Very nice and thoughtful giveaway Fausto.
