You know what, When I first started on this forum I refered to it exactly as an "Old School SJ" Those in disbelief , go dig around my old posts.

Now I find that SHSJ is more approperate because of its design and there is less confusion amongst the masses.:thumbup:

I think they could be called "Old School SJ" however, I will agree that mostly for the newbies "SHSJ" would make it a little easier to understand. Of course, they will have to know what a SJTAC is.;)

You have heard my opinion and all the proof that backs it up. I have heard your opinion.. We oviously don't agree.

That is about as far as we are going to get with this ridicilous thread. On to more important things..

I am sure many can agree with that. Do me a favor and have a nice day. :)

You have things flip-flopped. You are wrong and won't admit it.

The old SJ is not a SH design.
.

The anti SHSJ folks, keep dodging that statement... Why???

Oh well, Guess a lot of people are gona be hating on me for the continious future usage of the term in question..

As of right now this thread has solved nothing.. In result there is no more reason for me to contribute anymore to it..

Boss HOG calls it a SHSJ,so you are saying he does not know the correct name of his own knife?

A bit presumptuous and judgmental, wouldn't you say?

You should try reading the chapters on "tolerance" and "respect", specifically tolerance and respect for those who may have a differing opinion than you. Just because everyone in this thread does not agree does not mean you can simply disrespect or dismiss those who disagree. :thumbdn:

I think that if you look at that old web page; to distinguish that SJ as "the only straight handle" seems out of place and as time went on and more knives were made it would be misleading NOW to call that SJ a SHSJ. When just above on that page you have a bunch of knives with pretty much the exact same handle. Which are Gen-III.

I'll say this, if I was new here and saw the prices on a SHBM, SHSH and SHBA and then jumped on a knife on the exchange that someone called a SHSJ and then came to find that it isn't what everone in the world expects to be a SH design I'd be dam pissed off.

Also Jerry did not call it a SHSJ he said it had a straight handle. If Jerry had said the "Culti has the only Straight handle offered" would you want to call it a SHC? No you wouldn't because it simply ISN'T one

And what you you do with the BA-III? Call it a SHBA? It has the same handle as the old SJ.

I have to go work, and when I get back... the Old SJ still won't be a SHSJ.

If things were that easy.. LOL

I am going to call my Honda Prelude a Honda 911 turbo now..

I have to go work, and when I get back... the Old SJ still won't be a SHSJ.

Then what are these?

SHBASale001.jpg

Those are FINE!!!!!!!

See the thing is like I said Jerry never produced another generation of cults, yet at least, so...

Also you called the Badger a SHBA, mulder said it is only a Badger, you contradicted yourself.

Jerry never produced a Satin Jack that is similar to the SHBA with the sanded handles so how is it misleading, there is only one SHSJ.

Again... these are NOT from the SH era of knives. They are NOT SHSJs period.

When Boss man sold them on his site... he chose "Satin Jack" plain and simple. :p

So... from this day forward (and from this day since their release)
The will remain with the name Jerry gave them...

SATIN JACK!!! ;)

.

Thanks, I hope you have a good time at the knife show.

Lest this thread die:

People calling a Straight Handle Steel Heart a "Steel Heart II" still bugs me. The Steel Heart II was the BB Steel Heart that was slightly longer than the original Steel
Heart. There's no need to call it the BBSHSH, as SH II
should fully descriptive, just as SJ should be fully descriptive of the old style Satin Jack.

I think what you call them is not to important.

I think most people can work out what Jack you are talking about.

Of Course Some Folks Just Don't Know Jack (and thats ok)

I dunno, I'm not loosing sleep over it though. Just like I didn't get the FFFFFFBM or whatever. I thought it was the Fat Fusion Battle Mistress....then somewhere along the lines it became the Fat Flat Fusion Battle Mistress. I thoght fat was clear enough because there was only 2 different CG thicknesses...the fat ones and the .250's but hey. Not a biggie.

This thread is killing me. What a funny thing to argue aboot.

For the record, I use SHSJ. If anyone else wants to use something different, that's fine by me.

If we can agree that those who say SJ will never buy a SHSJ from the exchange and those who say SHSJ will never buy a SJ than my chances of getting one will increase...OK????:D:D:D

The real confusion arises when people fail to use the "TAC" suffix when listing something in the Exchange. There have been two recent occasions where I quickly dove in only to learn that the listing in question was TAC handled. Not that I hate the TACs, like some others here, but rather was just hoping to see a rope handled (not straight handled) blade.
