You did a really nice job on that knife and sheath.I realize this is an old thread, but I came across it again, and realized I did not post my self made Scagle inspired knife.
I forged a knife out of 5160. This is my second forged knife attempt.
Old hickory pick handle piece was used for the handle. Carved the handle to shape with the first knife I forged ( a yakut style knife attempt).
The guard is mild steel, andrhe handle has a micarta spacer, with a domed dril bit shank for the pin (a bit I ruined trying to drill the dang tang!!)
Gave this to my dad as a surprise Christmas gift a couple years ago.
