Very sensible ideai say you put RP #... on each side. then the only part for the knife that is personalized is the handle. then they would not have to do any custom etching on each blade. just one simple run on metal to cut cost. your scales could be installed then shipped to member.

Actually, from the beginning I thought about something like that as a place for my compass, but instead of threaded end-caps, I would make a round window big enough to cover the hole sitting flush to the scale's surface and held by one pivot screw at the very end of the knife which allows the window to swing open to access the "hole container" and one screw at the other end when screwed down secures the window. One of the reason I chose clear Lexan to work with. Good ideaDon't know if this was suggested, and just blue-skying it here...
What about threaded endcaps with coin slots for each side the big lanyard hole?
Not sure if you could store anything of major use, but every little thing helps, right?![]()

Very good idea, look at my very last pic in post #2 you'll see I already put the ant inside. I've read your PM. Please send me an email. My idea is to use the clear slabs, and instead of etching on the out side of the slab, etch inside.
Then use a black (or any other color) epoxy to fill the etching.
This way the out side of the scale would be smooth to the touch. It would give the slab a real 3d look to it.
You know, it would be so sweet to even go as far as to fill the etchings with a glow in the dark paint. Like they use on night sights. I know that the paint is really easy to use, and is really easy to find online. If it was on the inside of the scale, it would never wear off.

By the way, those aluminum scales made me drool.... PM me a price on those if you will! Thanks!
