Scam!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awright! Way to go! ( as in nobody got taken.)

Paper? I got orders to Ft Dix, an original weeks later that said Puerto Rico, and a DD214 that showed GTMO. But I can't say I was there for sure. I worked night shift.:D

Great advice like this helps us all - and don't forget Reservists are getting 30 days notice now, so they shouldn't be too hurried if they think about it. Name, Rank, and Unit number with daytime phone to a overworked fulltimer trying to mobilize? Please be short and sweet!

Hmm, I wonder if this is the same guy who shows up at the INDY 1500 show. In March, he approached me with questions about getting priority shipping because he was getting ready to deploy. Flatlander (now retired military) started asking him general questions about his deployment, and the guy couldn't answer a few essential ones of them.

Flatlander and I were sure the guy was jackin around, but didn't think anything of it.

He (the guy) again showed up at the May show, but seemed to stay away when he saw Flatlander talking to me. Bob (Flatlander) even commented to me in May that "hey, wasn't he bein deployed??" referring to the guy.

The dude I'm speaking of is about 6'1 or 6'2, flattop haircut, looks maybe 21-25, blondish hair. He looks the part, but......

Hmmmm.... Don't know what I can do in August, but I'll give it some thought....

Any suggestions??

There's a Chris Littlejohn who's been around the knife forums and tactical forums forever and is well-liked everywhere. Could someone be taking his name in vain? Could this be a case of mistaken identity? Let's not pull the trigger until we're sure who we have in our crosshairs....

All that I can tell you is that the person who identified himself as "Chris Littlejohn" on the phone today was Rodney Lowe. Same phone number, same address, same BS. I have no idea if the Chris Littlejohn you are speaking of is the same guy that called here today. Perhaps you could run an ISP search and find out if your guy is in Terre Haute, IN. If not, then Rodney is screwing him as well.

We have a Littlejohn listed as a Busse customer, but he has a different first name. I checked into the name on BLADEFORUMS and it appears to be a different Littlejohn than the fake one who contacted us today.

This really upsets me to see some scumbag abusing the same knifemakers who have been so generous to myself and other soldiers.

I just got back from basically spending 13 months on active duty, 11 of those in hostile fire zones. I was very fortunate to have three different knife companies express and/or give me military discounts on my orders. What upsets me is that those who abuse this will then hurt those of us who are actually serving overseas. Chris Reeve Knives has had some problems with this in the past of those claiming to be military ripping of CRK military discount. Becoause of that CRK discontinued their military discount for awhile, but over a year ago restarted it. They require a copy of buyers military ID and one other additional document to be sent to verify now and then they keep on record. I also ordered a Randall KNife, which the Orlando shop had to me in 2 weeks!!! Really beats the 3.5 year wait! But, again, they will only do that fast of an express order to an overseas APO Address with a military address so they know it is real. BUsse COmbat and Jerry Busse and their customer service rep. KAssi Glock (with a last name like that, you know she is a Godsend!)Have been so nice and helpful to my self and other service members. Jerry is so giving to the military it pains me to see his generosity taken advantage of. THose BUsse knives are really tough and I used several of them quite hard and carried on me two others, but never used them-but it was nice to know I had a knife that fit the bill if needed and came from a maker who was supportive, generous to the military and stood by his product. I would persuade knifemakers to ask for copies of military ID and orders to give discounts and priority shipping and also ship only to military addresses for those to recieve the discount or express shipping. If they can not produce the documents or address they are false! And don';t ever go for that BS about "well, I am on a special ops team (green beret, SEAL, ranger, etc..) and all that info is classified. BS!!! MIssions are classified, activation orders, unit addresses, ID card copies, DD 214s, etc.. are not classified. Thanks again RMK, BUSSE, and CRKs.

The scam has finally come to an end. It was a lot of hard work, but persistence paid off. Rodney Lowe never made it back to meet with the detective as scheduled. I waited a few more days and called the detective who told me that the prosecutor would not file any charges because we sent him the knives without getting payment first. I then decided that I had nothing else to lose. I tried Rodneys number again and got a answering machine. I pretty much laid it on the line as to what was going to happen if I did not get a tracking number for all of the knives by that afternoon. I told him that I would take legal action (he hadn't figured out that there was nothing I could do) and what would more than likely happen one month, maybe two, maybe six months down the road and he would have to be on the lookout 24-7.
Well, I guess he got the hint that we were not going away any time soon. The next day my cell phone rigs and low and behold it was our good friend Rodney with tracking numbers for myself and 2 the hilt. I gave him my other friends number and suggested that he call him and resolve the problem as soon as possible. A few days later we got our knives back. So, don't ever give up!!!!!! Keep the pressure on!!!!!!

Bobby, we're all very relieved to see a positive outcome to this scenario.

Amazing...just amazing.

Personally, I'm very glad to see that you didn't have to eat the cost of your knives. Thanks for sharing this with all of us on bfc. We have learned much.

Dan

Since this scam has resurfaced in another thread, I decided to call the phone number Bobby listed earlier. I got some lady's voice box that was full. The name was, I think, Misty Cochran. ???

Mr Branton,
I'm glad you got your merchandise back. I'm a servicemember and that really makes me mad to hear that one of ours is using his position as a means to rip off the public. I guess they forgot there morals and fail to realize how much time and effort goes into making a knife. I'm glad you got this situation solved.

IF WAR IS HELL, TAKE A BETTER PITCHFORK THAN THE DEVIL

Jery Busse is right about me (Dave Littlejohn) so please dont ever mix me up with this piece of crap:mad: * not that anyone has*) But DAMN, talk about a hell of a name to pull out of the air!!! What happened to alias Smith and Jones(not the t.v.show,yes I'm that old). It's just mines not a name you hear every day:D

I am bringing this one back, because I got gotten by this same guy. In February. He is back at it. Using the same MO as a quickly deploying soldier. So now, a hawk that could be in use by a real soldier, is sitting in this guys moms basement next to his Warcraft collection, stolen.

Thanks Bobby for the info.

That sucks Eddie. They seem to have gotten a lot of info. on this POS, anyway you can squeeze him like Bobby did?

You guys really need to make a trip to the post office. The postal inspectors will crawl way up his ass! Heck, I know one but he's in Alaska!

Make sure you follow through Eddie - you can't let people rip you off no matter what the dollar amount.

It seems nowadays that unless it's some HUGE amount people don't even bother going after people who've ripped them off - it's BS - theft is theft whether it's $25, $100, $1000 or more!

It makes me SICK!!! Here I am, just like a lot of you, bust'n my tail every day so I can HONESTLY buy the knives that I have or want!

Sorry to see this Eddie...
Hope you get 'em!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Somebody on this forum must live close to this Rodney Lowe that could pay him a visit and explain to him the evil of his ways.
