Scam!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys, is Brazil IN in Boone County? if so, I'd be happy to pass the knowledge of this thing to Capt Ken Campbell, one of the finest peace officers God ever brought before man.

While your desire to take care of deploying troops is admirable, you must understand that there are thieves in the military just like anywhere else. I realize this thief is probably not in the military but I was ripped off by a real active duty Marine Major last year so it can happen.

Business is business. I recommend you set your policies in concrete. Don't make exceptions to them. It seems every time I ignore one of my policies, I get hammered. Sorry it happened to you. Like the others, I'll hope for a happy ending.

I'm in Northern Indiana if you need an agent here. Going after theives is a painful and expensive process since the authorities aren't too interested in small fraud cases. I do it from time to time and I'd be happy to help you do it.

KnifeOutlet, don't let these things lie! Write a short note with all the information you have on the Marine Major, and send it to the Corps! Just send it to the Commandant of the Marine Corp at the Pentagon. You can get enough of the address off the website! I guarantee, if a Marine Major did this, he doesn't need to get promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, or command a battalion! Start at the top, it will take a few weeks but you'll get an answer!

If not, write the same thing to your congressman. The military takes "congressional" action very seriously.

Don't just lie down and take it! It's as important for the health of the military as for your own financial position.

It's no wonder my company has such a difficult time getting donations for T&E these days! On the face of it- WE also sound like scammers when we contact people by phone or e-mail.
Eventually, donors realise we're for real and they actually are getting a hell of a PR deal out of us not to mention other perks- but this thread really makes me shake my head and wonder :grumpy:
So I interviewed a number of knife, flashlight and tactical gear manufacturers & distributors about this. The startling result is that an overwhelming majority of the scammers hitting on makers were from within our armed forces. We know some GI items aren't standard issue but are these guys really that needy or are they just being greedy?
FYI- here's our project... http://www.imagometrics.com/GoBags/GoBaghome.htm

I don't know about laws in USA but here there are crimes (crimes, not transgressions) of "unreasoning enrichment" and "confidence trick".
Also it is possible to make collective presentment where the loss of each accuser is counted up. Therefore if there are lot of people damaged then the accused might find himself having made big crime and spend appropriate time in jail (although Czech courts are slower than dying paralysed snail

).

What I am trying to say is when you (collectively) report this to the police they should start investigation.
