After several emails back and forth with a guy by the name of David Shore of Longwood, FL, it looks like I have been scammed out of my GB Custom Catalyst (Tuffknives). We came to terms, I sent knife my knife and received nothing in return. Of course as soon as the knife was sent I stopped receiving responses. His email address is dsho0505@yahoo.com. This one of a kind knife is very easy to spot with the Westinghouse micarta. Please keep an eye out for this knife in your searches. I know there is always a risk in doing these trades. Guess I have just been lucky in dealing with honest folks up until this point.

Was the trade done here?? If so.......name and info!!
I'll report this post so it gets moved to GB&U

If it was seen here, they should have a forum name

Yup. If it was seen here he must be a member. If you don't want to post his forum name, hit up a mod for some help.
I reported this post for you. It will hopefully get moved.

Guy said he hasn't been on the forums for a long time but was told by a couple members when it came available.

hindsight is 20/20, but unless they have king of the hill feed back, nothing doing. I'm sending my half of the trade after I've received, inspected, STD tested, and given an IQ test to the knife you send me.

I thought I was the only one doing STD tests on knives!!
Strong move BF!!

When did you send the knife to this David Shore person? When does your tracking show that it was delivered? Inquiring minds want to know. :D

I don't know how long the police would say you need to wait before failure to complete a transaction throws the situation into a theft case.

For the value (per your thread where you listed the knife on BF), failure to follow through with the trade is Felony Theft.

If the individual is still failing to respond to emails at all, I recommend a call to the Longwood, FL police department. See what they say on how long to wait before filing charges.

If you sent your end of the trade by USPS, check with you postmaster to see if failing to complete a trade conducted via the USPS would also constitute FEDERAL mail fraud (also a Felony).

You don't want to go off half-cocked accusing someone of theft, but if you wait too long the police may not be able to recover your knife.

I would call the PD in his area. Silly as it sounds. I would do it and report it stolen and the value.

So you traded that with a complete stranger, not on this forum, with no established history or feedback?

zzyzzogeton my knife was signed for and delivered yesterday. The signature seems to be made up but I do have his address. He has not responded to my messages for days. I will contact the Longwood PD today. I'll try the postmaster as well. Thanks for the advice guys.

I know how stupid this was. This guy dangled a custom in front of me that I've wanted for a long time. He had pics I couldn't find anywhere. We talked about it for weeks. He even sent me a message the day we agreed to send stating he was on the way to the post office.

In your sales thread for this knife, you have your email address typed out for people to contact you. I'd wager that he simply saw it and sent you an email.

In the future, I'd highly suggest not putting your email in the ad for the entire internet to see. BladeForum members can send you emails or PMs by clicking on your username.

Hope you get made whole. Good luck!
