Scandi Passaround Routing

Are you next, Caine or is Todd A? According to the list Todd is but I know I didn't get the knife from you so I guess the list may not be in order.

ToddA has dissapeared. I`m in the middle of making the knife he was giving away for a contest prize and have not been able to get ahold of him. :confused:

I'd suggest not sending this passaround to him then. Just let me know who'd you like me to send it to and I'll take care of it.

I'd like to get it out tomorrow as I'm leaving for Disney for a week tomorrow night.

Anyone know where this is? I`m really dissapointed in how this passaround turned out. It started out strong, then just went downhill.
 
Hi Stomper -

I was just wondering about this little guy -

myright was the last person to have it, and I have not seen a review from him yet (maybe I just did not see it).

Perhaps the rules need a little updating:

- You have to have a camera and post pictures along with your your review.

- If you don't post a review within a reasonable time after you have the knife, you will no longer be eligible for any future passarounds ( this should be a the bladeforums level in my opinion, i.e. if you don't review a knife that was sent to you, you are out of passarounds anywhere at BF)

It is a bit ridiculous to have to chase the knives around and constantly be posting "where is it, where is it??" .

Folks, the idea here is twofold, 1, you get to have some hands on experience with a knife without having to buy it first, and 2, YOU POST A REVIEW SO OTHERS CAN SEE IT AND THE MAKER GETS A LITTLE PUBLICITY OF HIS/HER KNIFE!

What is going to entice a maker to do passarounds if the result is like THIS one????

Ok - off the soapbox.

Stomper - I think you should make two stickies for each passaround - one for the routing and "where is it now" thread, and one for the "here are links to my review" posts. Then, each person is required to post in each thread when appropriate. This would keep the threads up and active (now I subscribe to each thread to find them... and I, too, am disappointed in how this passaround is progressing now...)

HI Stomper -

I do not have pm's here, but you should try to pm myright - he has not been active on here for a little while.

Or perhaps you should email him to see what is happening with the knife.

The last I see of him posting was that he was "leaving for Disney" for a week and needed to send the knife out.

That was almost a month ago and was his last post on 06/17.

I posted on his "visitor message" on 07/07 asking if he was ok and if he had sent the knife on. No response so far.

I hope that the knife is not lost - that was a sweet little puppy.

caine pm`d me and said myright forgot to send the knife, but that it should be on it`s way soon.
 
I just got another pm from caine, he has still not received the knife! I`m getting real pissed off!

Hi Stomper -

Have you pm'd myright? What has he said regarding this?

I don't think that he would intentionally try to keep the knife (just based on my searching for his interractions here on BF), but it is a little frustrating when a passaround participant keeps the knife, for whatever reason, for 6 weeks.

The only way to weed out the bad apples is to have the passarounds, making note of who followed the rules and who did not.

I just have a hard time with the "I forgot to send it out" excuse, because from my experience, I am very excited when I get a passaround and It is my priority to get my review up and the knife passed onto the next participant.

Come on, myright, get that knife mailed on to the next reviewer and get your review posted up ASAP. You have had this knife since 06/01/2010 and still have not posted a review, nor have you passed the knife on.

I think you owe the passaround an explanation on your actions.

Hi Stomper -

Well - that is no good.

I hope he is well - it sounds as if Caine is in contact with him, so perhaps he will get that knife mailed on.

If not, perhaps we can ask someone who lives in his area to stop by and politely pick the scandi up and mail it along - I would be willing to paypal shipping costs to whomever could do that for the passaround.

I think we are nearing the time for some sort of action regarding myright and his lack of following the rules of the passaround:

We are nearing the end of week 7 since he received the knife, and it has been one month since we have heard from him.

Does caine have a way to contact him?

I would hate to see someone banned from the forum and their name and address posted in the GBU forum.

Most especially, I would hate to see the little Scandi Passaround lost to a person who scammed a passaround. :mad:
