school knife carry

Uh! I have read all the thread... So, you guys are still thinking that you are living in the most free country in the world? When your car can be looked by the officials by plan on monthly basis without order from judge....

Did you actually notice where that was happening? That was not a law of the land, it was a rule at a school.

I see. We call that activity "shmon". In my country it is isially practiced in prizons and un the army barracks.

In your country it is practiced in schools.

Happy new world!

As opposed to Russia -where everything is "please" and "thank you"? :jerkit:
How are your gun laws by the way?

When it comes to Freedom - Russia isnt even worth mentioning.

I know this is a bit off topic, but thought I'd share.

Yesterday, in my COLLEGE computer science class, my prof asked if anybody had a knife. I tossed him my mini-grip (made me nervous throwing the knife in case it opened) and he used it to cut some cord. The one thing I didn't like is the way he asked for a knife
"does anybody have a knife? are there any dangerous people in the room?". Kinda offended me because knives are tools, not weapons, and the sheeple need to get it through their head.

Also there was a guy sitting in front of me that also had a knife and we talked about how people will make fun of you for having a knife.....until they need it!

before we go bashing the russians has anyone seen the russian "spetznaz", that is probally the most hardcore special forces I have seen in a while, or atleast their training is the most hardcore.

Once again, it was ONE school. Why are you trying to make it out to be every school?

Back on the topic of the original post, I also don't understand the reason for the pocket clip requirement if the other students aren't supposed to know it's there. Make it visible with the clip, but make it invisible at the same time?

Does anybody else smell troll?

I doubt he's trolling. Different country, different customs, very different language. He's just trying to understand. New guys fit in at different speeds, too.

Privet v Bladeforums, Rozen. U nas nemnogo russkikh lyudey, i dazhe forum russkikh nozhov, ROSarms International. (Izvinite, trudno mne pisat'.)

No. I was not trolling.
I am a lecturer in local university. So, was realy interested with the topic. And I was really shocked about some "school rules".

We are very, very, very imperfect here. But I still have an illusion of personal freedom.

Nobody in my university will take interest about my bag, pockets, car until I take some crime activities. And in every case that will be the police man, who is looking in my car. With me and 2 witnesses. By the way, I have not seen the police on the university territory for a years. And all is ok. Strange?

Let's close about it. I see, that some people are nervous here about russians.

Thank you for hospitality.

P.S. By the way, about ROSarms. I am living about 200 miles from Zlatoust (their production place). But their knifes are rare here against other manufacturers. I am having one (Cliff), ordered directly from the fab.

I am really tempted by the Cliff. One of our members has or had one on sale here for a nice price, but I like the Ermak, too.

We have had a creeping control mentality here for years, but after the Columbine massacre, schools especially made extreme restrictions. Some of that gets publicized, like the school mentioned here, because it is so much more restrictive than many others.

One school in Texas just allowed properly authorized and trained teachers and staff to carry firearms in school. My own philosophy is, let the criminals and the crazies know there are armed people in the school, and they'll find an easier target.

Of course, even with the headlines every time there's trouble, statistically, trouble is rare.

Interesting thread. In Calif., there're different blade length restrictions for schools K-12 & Colleges/Universities. I'm assuming this is a K-12 & probably a high school. If it's a high school, does it have a SRO (School Resource Officer)? If so, I'd let him/her know what the Principal said & most likely, he/she will be cool with it.

Once the legalities are squared away, I'd highly recommend a B/M Grip as I don't think you'll find a knife with the same combo of size, quality, choice of colors, & within your budget. If you get a good deal, you can get STR to make you a lowrider clip for it & you'll still be right around your budget & you're set. No problem with the handle "sticking out". I know it'll work well, at least with a mini-Grip, because I put a STR lowrider clip on a mini-Grip & it worked great. The full size Grip shouldn't be any different. The great thing about the Grip is choice of color, price, & it's quick/easy to open/close one handed.

Consider yourself fortunate & good luck with your choice.
