I, like some others here, was trained/educated in the physical sciences. This gives me an urge to understand metallurgy in a reference that may differ in emphasis from that of others that came from the arts or from practical trades like machining. As long as we take care to stick to making the best knife we can without trying to BS anyone about the superiority of our product due to our "knowledge" we will be on track.

I care more about my understanding of the physical/chemical processes for my own use than making claims about superior knowledge. In fact I almost never get into details with potential customers, or they might fade into a daze and escape...
