Scout Pattern

This is an old green bone handled Craftsman. I believe that it was made by Ulster.

Great looking knife, Buzz!

I have a small collection of old Remington Scout and camp knives, but their little 3-1/4" closed four-blade Girl Scout pattern is my favorite.

Don Luis, I like what you did for the handles on your knives. What thickness plywood did you use on the German fixed blade? I thought it was stacked leather, at first.

IIRC, (that was more than 40 years ago), I had a spare piece of three ply three millimeter plywood lying around, about 2" wide and maybe a couple of meters long.

I just cut it in more or less square pieces, drilled a hole in each and stacked them into the tang of the knife with some glue on each one (can't remember what glue I used), let dry overnight then cut and shape with saw and rasps, sand and varnish.

So to answer your question, each piece was 3mm thick but actually made from three 1mm plies.

Luis
