Scrap Yard Scores Some INFI. . . . Meet The War Dog ! ! ! !

Looks like a great knife. About the same thickness of a boss jack but half the weight. Yes it is one inch shorter. I like the lack of the typical thumb ramp and the simple handle shape looks easy to grip in different positions. The single quillion looks to be a benefit also. The look of the choil is also an improvement. There is plenty of blade not to need the edge right up against your index finger. It has been said it looks like a kitchen knife. I hope it is as handy as that favorite kitchen knife you always look for first. Satin INFI convex edge less than $200, I'll take 2 and I did.

It really is a tremendously good deal. But then, Dan is all about that.

Scandi grind??? where???

if that's a scandi grind I'm batman !!

Agreed. That and maybe half as thick. ;)

It does look purdy.

Awesome design but .235 - come on guys, if INFI is that good why do you always use such thick stock ?

.155-.180 thick with a very smal choil (Fallkniven F1) and I'd be all over this knife......

you and me both brother !

agree !

Anyone else want to see an xray of the handle? Looks like it'll be a great user, also a great starting point for modding.

I do like the look of this one but why that thick ??? It would probably have made a nice Bushcrafter with an 1/8" or 3/16" spine.

Jerry and Dan know what they are doing. I'm guessing it has to do with what they think the knife is meant to do. Also very key is balance. Like for instance, this one looks more like a fighter as compared to a skinner.

Good point....it would make a great fighter and with a name like Wardog I guess that's what it was designed for !

and someone with experience can fight with a skinner, skin with a fighter while balanced on one leg.:D:thumbup:

I'm thinking that if Dan is using left over Infi from some recent Busse run, then maybe he can't be picky about the stock thickness of the steel ( maybe .25 is what he has to work with) and to grind that down to 3/16 would be lot more labor intensive ( raising the price), just my thought on it:D

that makes a lot of sense !!

0.235 is think, but I have knives that are .25 and they work fine for all around woods knives. Yes, I'd like to see a slimmer version and a 4 inch length. Maybe call it the War Pup or something. :)

NICE!!!! Just ordered!!
My first SY was the SS4 INFI so I guess its a must to get the 5" INFI War Dog.

very nice, but I want the War Pup (or whatever) - as described above - 3.5" blade from thinner stock. Handle looks fantastic though and I love Res C.
