• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Scratch pattern when sharpening

I work in the semi-conductor industry where the plus and minus of measurement is 20 nano-meter, so I am used to seeing hi-mag images

But please help my understand these images to discern the differences of edge sharpness
At 500 mag any knife edge will look like a mountain arete

I don't agree, but I do like the word "Arete"

Any takers to explain the high resolution images of the knife edges?
Please....

Am not sure what needs to be explained, but am game if you can narrow it down a bit. An interesting side note would be to include pics of common materials at the same magnification so the possible interactions between materials and different edges might be more apparent.
