If I might say so, Nathan the Machinist : you really hit it out of the park with the basic SDFK. Not sure why, but it feels a little better in hand (not so much on the belt ) than the HDFK, which is a gorgeous knife of course. And I should wait for the newness factor to wear off ...

Can’t comment on the HDFK but can say the SDFK is amazing comfortable in hand and for a sharpened 1/4” chunk of steel came very sharp and functional

Let me say it like this (similar but different from what Nathan wrote the other day): the HDFK is the best all around camping knife I own. But in practice, a combo of FK2 (or Dek) and basic SDFK will be more versatile

Anyone know if HDMC scales are interchangeable with the SDFK? Look very close in photos.

SDFK scales would fit HDFK. They will not fit choppers.

Keep in mind the HDFK has the hidden lanyard hole and the SDFK doesn't, so if you put HDFK scales on a SDFK, there will be notches in the rear of the scales that do nothing, and if you put SDFK scales on a HDFK, the lanyard hole will be covered.

Does the Signature SDFK have a lanyard hole ? Just even you think you only need the regular version..
