SDFK is Glorious

Thanks and yes! I should have also gotten a set of buffed ones. Did get another set of OD Green Micarta unbuffed, but will probably keep the B/R on there, so nice 😍

Very nice. FWIW, I've found that wiping the unbuffed scales down with Ballistol really brings out the color (and darkens it some), without reducing the grippiness at all.

UPS driver is getting sneaky. Didn’t even hear the scanner beep at the door.

You’ve got me excited now after seeing yours, except my UPS guy won’t be here till after dark today.
I’ve got the buffed twin to yours coming in.

Look at the two long streaks of red by the front fastener on yours. They are identical to mine and they show up on both sides of my scales. That’s precision machining and a uniform product 😮

This is an unbuffed red & black linen SS SDFK right? Looks great! I'm awaiting my basic SDFK with unbuffed scales in this color.

K kenkuhniv ,

Mine are buffed, it’s Jason MD’s that is the unbuffed. You are correct, mine is the SS version, as is Jason’s.

I am throughly pleased at how well this color combination turned out, my daughter picked it out.

The Red & Black change to multiple shades of those colors depending on the sun, cloud cover, wet or dry, even time of day when it’s outside. Heck, I don’t think I’ve even seen the same color tone twice yet, except inside the house. But, it’s only been in my hands less than 72 hours though.

Thanks Hammer67 Hammer67 , I totally agree, way nicer than I thought it would be. The credit goes to my daughter for choosing that color w/ black fasteners, and Jo the Machinist Jo the Machinist for selecting those scales to match and assembling it all together.

Thanks B B Hartley , outdoor pictures on this one are a bit tough, simply because it never looks the same twice. They sure are an amazing set of scales.

Thank you again Jo, my daughter is going to love it.
