Hehe, it's sort of a 'the more you learn, the more you understand how little you know'. Still, I will work hard to try to make a good contribution(s)! It would be a fun project for sure.

(Unrelated addendum- glad you mentioned the post count, I neglected to do a give-away! Gotta get one of those in the works...)

CanDo,

I am interested in one of the administrator spots. I spend all day and most evenings online, and I have a background in editing work. Can you please email me with some details?

Thanks!

I am in the process of building an entry on first aid. I'm hoping to address both assembling a kit (as it would pertain to backpacking/camping) and making proper use of the kit, including basic judgments on what constitutes an 'emergency' situation. Both primary and tertiary medical literature will be appropriately cited throughout, including an advisory and disclaimer to seek proper training and medical advice, and that the entry should not be used as a substitute for either.

Would this type of entry be of use, or is something already 'in the works'?

Thank you, sir!
I should have mentioned this sooner, but the site usually goes down for 10-30 minutes between 9:30 and 10:30 pm EST for maintenance until things get well-established. I hope that none of your work is lost! If you can, please copy and paste your writing into a word document until the site can go back up; if you save your changes and find that the site has gone offline while you were working, click the 'back button' and your work should still be there. This (rather embarrassing) issue should be resolved within a week.
This article would be very welcome there! There is nothing 'behind the scenes', so if you don't see an article on the front page or in a search, it's all yours!

Parke1,
Thanks for your interest, e-mail sent!

HI CanDo-

I've been working in Word throughout, so I never lost any work. Thanks for the advisory though.

I've completed a rough draft of a first aid kit basics and wound care essentials. Would it be preferable to separate these two topics, or leave them together?

Great idea, I will be watching this grow.

I added a game that we play often in the woods with our children.

I tried to post a topic about Rattlesnakes but it didn't go so Ill try later.

It went through perfectly! http://funditor.110mb.com/wiki/index.php/Snakes

Thank you very much for the contribution. It didn't appear to have worked because the Wiki software uses a code somewhat less intuitive than the forum's. I reformatted it, and it works great! If nothing at all shows up after you post an article or make a change, try reloading the page or clearing your browser's cache. I'll post a quick message on the Do's and don'ts of Wikipedia formatting; it's very easy once you've done a little bit with it.

Spooky Pistolero,

Use your discretion. It's hard for me to say without actually seeing the writing, but either way is OK. - We can always change it later.

Badge54,
Thank you for the post!

Articles added on 'cuts' and 'asssembling a first aid kit'.

May work on a 'dayhike kit'...

Excellent, thanks! I'll link to them from other pages shortly.

tknife,

Sounds good, I'm looking forward to seeing you around, there. Tonight, I'll have to come up with another article, myself :)

Can someone edit the picture? That is a Crotalus atrox, the western diamondback. Thanks. The picture states it is a 'diamondback' not a western diamondback. Thanks.

Ah, there it is. Now will somebody please sticky the dang thing.

You're the man kiahs! I had a print out of a different thread, but this one is much better! Thanks a lot for finding that for us! -Matt-
