WHAT A PITY

((that I dont know what "Mumbly Peg" is))

The way we used to play it...(IIRC)...hold the knife with one end on your finger, and flip it into the ground with the other hand...knife must make at least one 360* revolution, and stick in point first...then go down the other 9 fingers (except Goose, who has 12)...It gets harder when you get to two revolutions (720*)...

...This is how we ( foolishly ) played the game when we were kids...By the way...this was taken from WikiPedia's definition also...

"In one version of the game, two opponents stand opposite one another with their feet shoulder-width apart. The first player then takes the knife and throws it to "stick" in the ground as near their own foot as possible. The second player then repeats the process. Whichever player "sticks" the knife closest to their own foot wins the game.

If a player "sticks" the knife in their own foot they win the game by default, although few players find this option appealing."

...So as you see...intelligence wasn't one of our "long suits" as kids...LMBO...:o

Thanks a lot for the information.

I won't tell that to my sons, cause they would use my buck knifes for that "game".:D

I do not trust Wikipedia for anything...I also never heard this definition...but it is quite possible that what we played was something different...I just don't recall the correct name... :o

...We played it when we were "grounded" or had been told to "stay put" by someone's mom or dad. We didn't know it was "Mumbly Peg" at the time...It was just something we did to kill time. I grew up in a more rural area and excitement was not something that was easily found out there by kids in those days. At times we'd change the "rules" and instead of trying to get close to your own foot...we'd try to get close to the other kid's foot...Now THAT'S when you might see some "excitement"...LMAO...  ...Just know that we never used Buck 110's...Those could have caused really BAD damage with a mis-throw but they weren't even around then... :p

You are not alone. We also had our "games", whatabout its better not to reflect.

...LOL...We were all just kids Herbert...No matter what country we were living in , at that age, we all thought we were "immortals"...

Marv - We can make a defibrillator out of an old lamp...and take turns giving jolts to dave... :D  :D

Well then, chicken, start the project. May be that the defib will be necessary.
Dave should get a blackout when he reads this:

I'll offer the white handle 124.

Yes, you read right - that one ...

I would swap it with a red handle 124. Is one of you, guys, interested?

Best regards,
Haebbie

The next one arrived.

What the hell is that design on the handle of the top one Haebbie?
You ain't no tree huggin' hippie are ya???

I think I "may" expand my collecting interests beyond 110/2 to include 120/4.

Other than me taking some black electrical tape over that hippie-peace-nick jazz, great looking knives. ;)

Sweet smoke and flower power makes the world go around or do I mix up anything? But tree hugging? I did it one time at an accident with my bicycle and that hurts. So I don't do that once more --- Krishna krishna, hare krishna, krischna krishna hare rama :foot: :D  ;) :)

But Goose, didn't I wrote it several times? Somewhere along the way you come to the fixed --- shure! You can't resist --- no chance.

With compliments from Woodstock

Isn't that the story for most of us that are searching! :o I'm thinking there will be some real battling going on if one ever showed up on fleabay.

One did show up on ebay about a year ago.....I should have bid and apologize later.....If memory serves me it only went for about 250.00. The next one will cost a small fortune....at least three of us will be bidding on it:eek: :p :D ;)
