Alright, ill bite, is that the Chinese copy? how do you like it? did it come with the case? how well is it built? I just ordered one, apparently it is going to be a couple of weeks.

Thats exactly what I did to mine. I saw a 710 on a popular auction site at $1 so I just had to bid. I got it for $1.25 + $6 to ship it lol... It is very well made, but It is just too small for me, handle is too short.

I consider my hands to be somewhere between small and medium(I wear medium mechanix gloves); and the ball detent combined with the thumb stud placement, and handle length(shortness rather), makes it difficult for me to open safely. My thumb has slipped off the stud a few times trying to open it one-handed, and once I got a real good slice on the tip of my thumb. Though the strength of the detent makes it flip out real fast, its almost like an assisted opener.
It does seem to be very well made, and it is amazing to get something like that for under $10, but its not for me.
Sorry for the hijack.

before I start sanding, I wanted to be sure that I will not be sorry if something goes wrong, so I took 5 minutes to buy another one ( fifth reserve ) :-)))

How did you get it all cleaned up? just scotch brite? or did you go through a ton of grits? is the pattern in the handle just etched on or is it like stippling? some pics look one way and some look the other. Mine is on its way right now and id love to have it look like yours. Oh, SRM's site lists the steel as 8Cr13MoV, do we have any reason to discredit this?

nope all SRM, Enlan and Ganzo knives are either 8cr13mov,8cr12mov, or 8cr14mov. Navy uses 440c

I don't know how bigtoof did his, but I doubt it was scotch brite. It stippling and you have to go pretty deep to get rid of all of it, as you can see his has a tiny amount left near the lanyard hole. I did mine very carefully on a belt sander; if you go too deep then you have problems getting the screws to sit flush on the handle.

So you bought a copy and tried to make it look less like a copy?!

You should not support someone ripping off Chris's design! I think It's bullshit, and I'd like to burn every one of these fucker's factories to the ground where they're copying honest people's designs and hard work. Do you know what it takes to bring a knife design into the marketplace?...Design, prototype, marketing and years of time and money to gain the trust and confidence with your buyers....And some piece of shit comes by and copies your design and takes advantage of all of your hard work overnight and profits off of ignorant people who don't understand the problems this causes for America. You want a cheap knife....Buy a cheap knife, but don't buy a copy of a well know hard working designer or maker! Expensive is expensive, cheap is cheap...Stealing is wrong!!!

SRM 710 is a good knife. it is NOT advertised as a sebenza, so I dont understand all of the hate. Its very cheap and is worth more than it costs.
