Sebenza 31 Converts?

Definitely digging on the large. It's funny how fast one forgets the coarseness of the bead blast on the titanium. At this point I'm still harboring a sneaking preference for the small, moreso because I like to take the clip off and carry it right in the pocket. I can however see the large as being a one knife solution to all of ones needs.

A few days in the pocket will tell me a bit more.
Feel free to take that clip off and give the pocket carry a chance.

Where does this filler tab come from? Neither my large nor small Sabenza included it in the box. Is this something I will need to order separately? I would like to try it with the small as I will be doing more pocket carry with it
Looks like Blues Blues has you covered, I will add that I found it to be a worthwhile purchase. Without it the clip screw protrudes into the blade well. I'm not ordinarily concerned with such things, but for some reason it drive me nuts.

If I get a day cold enough for long pants I might. 😁👍

now for those who go clipless, would you then get a belt slip or some sort of clip on slip for it?? really got me thinking of digging out that little filler tab to try clipless carry

I just drop mine in pocket like you would with a traditional. That's with a small though, after handling a large I'd stick with the clip. Never been a big fan of them, but the CRK ones are definitely way better than anything I've used in the past.

I carry my zaan clipless. The right side front pocket of my Duluth cargo pants and shorts has a large change or coin pocket at the bottom that holds the zaan vertically with or without a slip sheath.

I've been carrying it bare or with this slip that I had made years ago by Ron Ryder...but that's only until I get a couple from our friend Sharp & Fiery Sharp & Fiery , with, and without a clip.

I've been playing with horizontal sheaths lately (carried on the weak side, kinda like a cross draw setup). So far, it's very comfortable and easy to get to with either hand. However, learning how to open a double-lug Sebenza with my off hand is taking a bit of practice.

I don't have one for the 31 yet, but it's on the way from Canada.

Here is a Mnandi sheath I received recently. It's clipless. The idea is that I always have the Mnandi in the same place (strong hand) for clean work (food, letter opening, etc.) and can carry larger knives either in the strong side pocket with a clip, or cross draw on the weak side when I'm in the mood.

I only tucked in the shirt for the picture. Normally the shirt hangs over the gear. Hides quite nicely. When the 31 holster arrives I'll post it up if anyone wants to see it.

Nice!! I'm always dreaming up new ideas for custom leather gear. It's a hobby unto itself.

I currently own six 21s and don't see myself buying a 31.
When i started buying CRks i was always assured that when buying one, it would be "perfect".
When the 31 came to fruition i read so many negatives that it molded my opinion somewhat so i never tried a 31.
I love the bushing system and that alone always made me love the Sebenza.
The fact that you can tighten it all the way and never lose the smooth action was always a big win for CRk in my eyes.
Now that's gone and, even though i like my Small Inkosi and my Umnum, it's hard for me to have the 21 design without the bushing.
Also, i live in a country that has crazy Customs in regards to knives so the thought of needing to send a 31 in was always a big no no.
The reported issues we're unacceptable for me but now i'm seeing much positive feedback.
I also got to say that implementing new steels are an attractive point.
So who knows, maybe i end up buying a 31

Give a 31 a chance, you won't be disappointed. I love my large 31.

The 31 still has the bushing.

Glad you mentioned this. I wasn't sure and am too lazy to open one up.

My large 31 is breaking in and getting smooth so fast, I was starting to wonder if the pivot screw was getting loose due to the "new system". Good to hear that it's still the old system.

I heard Tim Reeve say in an interview that you can switch from a 21 to a 31 with no "hitch in your giddyup." Good way of putting it. Internally, the two knives differ quite little. I think the difference in perception has mostly to do with lockbar pressure and the size of the detent. These things are only at issue while cycling the action.
