If someone asks me for my knife I'll ask them what for... and if it's a reasonable request I'll do the task myself. I'm not handing over my blade so someone else can chip it up or grind it down cutting something with a concrete backdrop.
I usually carry just one, but sometimes I'll have one in my bag, one in my car, etc. Same applies. Mine, beat it!
If you need 0.50 for a coke I'll hand it over once. If you don't repay in some manner then you're cut off for life and I'd sooner toss my change in the storm sewer then give it to you again.
