Second round of web specilas are up

 Wow, some guys seem to loath the 405.

Hi Jeff,

I'm just having some fun with these guys...I have a warped sense of humor. I do like the 405...But, have over spent my bucks for Bucks this month. I was in the dog house with the wife before she left for vacation:o, and I did find another 500 I had to have while she was gone. If any are left over in a few weeks I just may pick one up myself;). Did I ever tell you how much I like stag:cool:.

and I did find another 500

We have to see that. Since your just now talking about it I'm gonna guess its dealers model, pined, with brown bone jigged like impala horn??

Hey jb,

Phew! I was getting worried you guys knew something I did not, and was worried about my 405 purchase.

Does the 4570 stand for 4570 government, as in my favorite chambering?

Jeff

You hit the nail on the head Jeff,

I'm a 45cal Fan 45ACP, 45LC, 454, 460, and my favorite 4570gov. That 4570 just looks like a cigar and kicks ass:thumbup:.

Nice one John.
I didn't even see it. Buck Buddy's spotting for you helps round out that collection:) And keep ya broke and in the doghouse.

The dog house isn't so bad. I've been in the dog house so long that when I meet someone now, I don't know whether to shake their hand or sniff their butt!:p

I kind of hesitate to revive this thread, since it may be beating a dead horse.

The 405 and the 118 D2's came today.

first the 405. I like it! It is everything you guys said it was. The sambar is well matched as is fit and finish. I thought the sheath maybe should have had the plastic liner, but this one is not going to be a user.

The packing slip said C.B. signature knife (BO) King. I guess with it being a build out, it wasn't signed, which is fine.

No model number or year code, so all the paperwork stays with the box for future reference.

then there are the 118's in D2. Fit and finish on both are excellent. They are stamped the same as my stag 118's in D2. The boxes are date stamped 8/15/08, which I thought interesting.

Now, I don't understand the sheath thing that some of you talked about. Yes, they are the 105 sheaths, which means they are simply a little longer than the 118 sheath. But they have the plastic insert and the snap locks them in nice and tight. so unless I get careless and stab one in there between the liner and leather, they should be just fine.

I will watch them as both will most likely become users.

I ordered them on the 30th and they got here today. Thats really quick for it being a holiday weekend.

I think the 118 D2's could be one of the best values I have ever seen for a premium steel in a user knife. This is as close as you can to come to a 110 in a fixed blade.

so that is my two centavos worth

No, I am glad you posted. I still haven't pulled the trigger on the 405, so talking about it helps me decide.

I also agree with you on the sheath for the 118, yes it isn't an exact fit, but I didn't give it much of a thought about it. The knife, at least mine, is super. Thanks for posting.

Can you post a pic of the stag D2 ??? somehow I missed that! I have been using my D2 and I really, really, reallllly like it....What did it cost??? [ IIANBTN]

Here you are bucksaway  ;) :D

As I remember I paid 80 USD for it, but I am not sure.

Best,
Haebbie

Dang,

I am gonna have to remember that, if I meet Plumberdv at the next factory convention.....300Bucks

Got the Tempest with ATS-34 blade yesterday. Its my first assisted opening knife, been a 110 kind of guy. I like the Tempest! The liner lock seems a little thin when compared to the Spyderco Tenacious, but it snaps open with avengence.
