Second Round

Sometimes I like to put them all in my cart and pretend I am a Lotto winner:foot::foot:

I saw that about the 27. That must have been a Jaxx 27 joke. I don't think they are any GW's that numbered 27 or less. The green linen was said to be the most rare at under 20 but I know of about that many and have been told by a couple of Hogs that they were sure there were more than that.

At the time I also heard that there were less than 20.

And if you missed these Wardens please don't buy any on the exchange that are being flipped. Let those sellers eat steel for a while.

Thanks

A few good HOG's stated that they might (emphasis on "might") have a few extras to pass along... Try to wait & see if they do before jumping on one being flipped.

+1 on the "Let 'em eat steel".

I'm really only after a few keeper GWs when it's all said and done. Satin is king, and nothing has topped the LE in my book. Still, I hazily foresee the following as keepers:

.140" LE and either Black Tie or Hunter Orange
.170" Tiger Warden and black/DC (my wife has a Flame/Fire Warden)
.200" Skeleton Warden
.220" One of the three that came out this week.

Not sure about the .220". I got all three offerings this week, will probably pick my favorite out of the batch and sell or trade the other two. I really wish one of them had been in micarta.

I'd love a green linen/satin. It's satin, thin (.140"), and micarta. But I don't think, at this point, I really want to pay what folks are going to ask for it.

Edited to add: An SE at .270" might be cool to own, but kind of like the Off Duty, I just don't see the thickness's practicality in such a small knife. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I was offered two a while back and the price considering the knife was fair but I wasn't going to pay that much for it; and as you well know it isn't like I need another Warden.:o

My thoughts exactly ... F#@% 'em! Most of the people here seem very cool and into it for the blades. A few ... well, see comment above. Like we need people playing middleman. :thumbdn:

Aw c'mon!!! Here's few reasons to own one...

Doorstop. :D:D
How else are ya gonna open a can of Hawaiian Punch w/o a can opener? :D
wood splitting wedge with a handle? :D
Ice chisel?
"Is that an SE Warden in your pants or are ya just glad to see..." :foot:
Locked desk drawer opener... :p

Maybe it's time for a "101 Uses for an SE GW" thread for fun... LOL

I wanted to see all three and hand-pick my keeper. That's my privilege as first to the trough. If I sell a couple, they won't be at prices jacked to the stratosphere, and I'll sleep just fine. I usually prefer to find someone who's looking and just make a fair deal behind the scenes anyway. I've "pimped" quite a few GWs this way lately, actually.

I said "correct me if I'm wrong." There you go. :D

The list could be pretty fun. Is the Off Duty even thicker though? Maybe 101 Reasons to Own an Off Duty...

I beleive that they are even thicker... Over .30in.? My fuzzy memory isn't serving me well today at all... :o

i think the off duty is in the .300 range.

the only use ive found for my gw se so far: hold it and say, "wow. that is one fat, short blade!!!"

absolutely your privelege, couldn't agree more.

but what you do is not the same as carting everything, so nothing is available, with no intention of buying any of it.

this is not a complaint, necessarily. i just can understand the frustration a new person would feel when all they want is a badger.

Please don't think I was directing my comment at you (didn't use any names for a reason). I'm rather new here, but have been lurking for a bit and think that I have a pretty good feel for the players. There are many great folks on this forum, and a few twits. I'm really not afraid of damaging my relationships with the select few. ;) Buying a bunch to resell for strong profit ... well, I'm not sure that's what "no regrets" is all about. Please let me know if I have a incorrect read on that one.

This guy has them all in his cart.

How can you tell which knives are being flipped through the forrest of knives being flipped over on the exchange?:confused:

Well, while I feel frustrated a times, it's the nature of the beast. Accept it or don't. Some folks scoop them up and some just try for scraps. I have been lucky at times, and unlucky at times, but I am ok with it. Choosing to by one at an inflated price is really up to the worth of the knife to the individual. I have paid more for a knife I REALLY want with NO REGRETS.

Personally, the price of these fat Wardens is amazing. I am surprised that they weren't $227 or $247. I was lucky enough to grab one for myself and another for disbursement purposes for someone who didn't get as lucky. I have friends local that will get first crack at it at the cost I paid. Then it'll come here. Will I sell it for more than I paid? Maybe, but I am certainly not going to LOSE money on it. Shipping to me from the BCS, shipping to the second buyer, and purchase fees (Paypal) will all be baked into the cost on the second market. Will someone view that as inflated for profit? If they do, they aren't thinking about it clearly...
