Secondary price markup on the 560CBCF....Where is it...

Honestly, even if they think ill of it, I doubt they would be selective in the dealers they send limited editions to, they really can't control who sells their batch to what dealer/customer.

Interested to hear an opinion though

Like you said, it may be the secondary dealers that do the super mark-ups. If it comes back to the original dealer though, then they could just cut them off or limit their supply. If that were to happen, I think it would be a very fair decision.

Like ive said in other threads as much as I like the new stuff I refuse to pay more than what they were supposed to be released at so ill do without. Its not like I need every new offering out there I have hundreds more knives than I can use now lol.

There is not a price that they were supposed to sell for. MSRP stands for "manufacturers SUGGESTED retail price" The only rule that I am aware of is MAP and that is 80% of MSRP. and on the 0560CBCF it is $340 at LEAST, not the limit. If a customer wants to give me $800 for one, why would I not take it ? I would not advertise at that price however. What really is a kick in the Butt is that when I try to be fair and my customers turn around and flip them immediately. Even had one that sold it before I shipped it to someone else for $450. What bothers me the most is all the whining and complaining about minuscule things, all this will do is cause Kershaw to stop making this kind of knife. Why would they continue to go to the trouble to listen to all the crap, when they can just turn out the box store stuff and not have to listen to it. These knives are some of the finest knives I have seen from any company and I know they have gone to great lengths to give us some nice stuff, because they can , certainly not because they have too. Now anyone that wants to come back and call me a fanboy, don't waste your time, I am one and have been for almost three decades. I know how hard they work and how Zealous they are about the product and how much care they take to ship only the best products, then people find some little thing they don't like and start whining instead of calling the dealer and returning the knife. I just hope that people can realize that there are real people working at Kershaw not freaking robots without feelings. Rant over, next time you have an issue call or email your dealer instead of bothering Kershaw, let them build Knives.

I wasnt bitching about the knives they are great im bitching about the pricing people are flipping them at and that includes dealers

Nope, not secondary dealers, this one is getting the 0888. You had to be selected in the Kai lottery to get those. Not sure if it was the same with the 0560CBCF.

Jhyde: Not to be selective but to encourage dealers to keep their pricing within map/msrp. My guess is those dealers on ebay are indeed secondary dealers like you alluded.

Some of those prices are starting to come down. Think they may be realizing they are not going to make a 200% profit on this knife. There is even one for less than I've seen on certain dealer sites.

I dont understand the workings like alot of u do but i know this....i know what each knife is worth to me and what money i have to spend....To each person that is alot different. If peiple want the knife bad enough and have the means its worth what they will pay, its worth that to them not everyone. if i bought one for 350-400 and someone offered me 800 id be a fool to turn it down. That being said it would bother me alot if i sold one at fair price and someone just flipps it to make money. But thats world we live in sadly i just wouldnt deal with them ever again. just how i feel may be right or wrong but its me

This is a free market society. If you sell something, make sure you sell it for a price you will be happy getting or don't sell it. If someone else sells the same knife or sells one like it for more, good on them. If you feel you missed out or got backhanded in some way, who's fault is that really? Just yours. You had the choice to sell a knife totally in your possession for whatever price you wanted to...and in reality, you did. What someone else sells or pays for their knife is really none of your business whatsoever.

Something else to think about is that dealers and some collectors have many knives. They don't need to make a lot off one knife. They make a decent amount off many. Most guys selling on eBay have just that one and are trying to maximize profit because that's all they have. To each their own. Everybody be happy for each other.

I agree with you 100%. I could have bought one from dealers on here at 425 and 360 but flat out refuse to buy at those prices. Also I will never buy anything from those dealers in the future. They are off my dealer list.

You are mad that not all dealers are selling at absolute MAP or lower?

My expectation is $425 or lower for this knife that was just released last week. I got four for myself at well below that. I think scalpers got too excited and jumped the gun with their $800 and up asking prices. Give it a few weeks at least! Lol. ZT has said hat this knife was made out of appreciation for their customers. Free market or not, buying it strictly to flip on ebay is a little classless, Even Thomas inquired has to who these dealers were supposedly. Flippers flip away but dont do it too much, you might have to pay for a dealer level membership on BF, reference Spark's thread on the exchange.

So I guess you are no longer my customer, that is sad.

$360 for that knife is a good price. If those are your standards you may run out of dealers. I would have been hesitant and a little disappointed if I had to pay $425, but that is MSRP and it would have been fair.

Yes it takes two of the good guys right out of the game, myself and Blade HQ.

Yup, and in a few months when the price to get one is significantly higher, most of these same people will wish they bought it at these "ridiculous" prices and will be bitching about how much they have gone up and why they can't get them at MSRP.

I guess what it comes down to they will just have to complain and not have one.......guess what if its to much money for u or to much in ur mind just go without it!!!! i cant afford one at all and im not crying about it, i have to go with out alot of things i wish i had.

sorry if that came off rude not what i meant.....its just if u dont like price dont buy it. life is full of stuff like this its just way it is.....the people who cant afford to feed there kids dont complain so much. take a minute and look at bigger picture in the world. wish every one the best.....
P.S. if u dont like way dave and blade hq do things than maybe u need to look with in urself they are the good guys
