I’m still not feeling the hemlock love. If you’re not into red, the only thing worse is to mix some green with it. If this doesn’t turn out right, this could be the Christmas sweater of pocket knives! Haha

The chance to get a single blade copperhead barlow at retail? That’s the very definition of unusual/unique! ;)

Copperhead looks fantastic. Can't go wrong with any of them, but those red and brown tones go so well together.

I tried to stay out of this discussion! Socrates was a fairly smart fellow. Odds are he would not have chosen hemlock.

The most famous case of hemlock poisoning was that of Greek philosopher Socrates in 399 BC. The 70-year-old was found guilty of heresy in a trial in Athens. His sentence was death by hemlock, and he had to drink the poison by his own hand.

Can someone explain to me like im a 5 year old why its called hemlock green? I dont see green in it at all.

Actually explain it like im a dumb 3 year old please.

hemlocks are red just under the bark, and that's the reason for the red in the dye. Green and red would combine to make the primary brownish shade, but the red definitely sticks out along the bolsters.

I think it's because green dye is added to the red, to make a dark brown color. (I don't know if the dyes are mixed first, or perhaps it is dyed in stages) When the bolster end is polished down, more of the red is exposed.

I knew you guys could dumb it down for me! I googled hemlock green and theres an actual paint color that is certainly a shade of green, so I was a tad confused.

I think it's appropriate that Hemlock and Copperhead are leading the race.
They are both "Brown" knives with hints of Red in them.
Perfect, since the Red/Brown vote was so split in the last poll.
They are my top two choices and I'll be super happy with either one.

I am totally amazed that Hemlock is doing so well!! It's pretty interesting, but I never thought it would get more than a few votes!!
Colors have different characteristics when they are infused in dye, like for bone, and in paint for plane (flat) surfaces! Also when glass or transparent material is colored!!
I have to admit it's an intriguing color!

All the pictures I've seen of Hemlock are not only shown on jigged covers ... but double bolsters as well.
This forum knife will not only be sawcut ... but have a single bolster.

So a vote for Hemlock is certainly a chance leap of faith but SHOULD turn out nicely.

That said, I'd likely be just as happy with another choice such as Copperhead or Dark Brew.
... and the other selections wouldn't be horrible either.

Ooh, my heart says Antique (I like the contrast between the yellow fitted areas and the very dark sawcut surface) but Hemlock is darn nice too, and winning by a decent amount, so, I must cast my vote there. Copperhead is pretty but I have several…. And nobody ever seems to get too excited about it. It also dulls, which is a consideration in a knife that tends to the dressy. (I know, I know, dead horse.)

I voted Dark-Brewed, but I agree Hemlock could be cool!!
Depending on Bill of course!!
And not done in Sawcut so far (I understand) It will be unique!!
Hmmmmm?? 🤔
I hope we are not building a Horse, by a Committee!!😲ugly camel.jpg
