Went with my heart and voted Sepia since the dream of smooth ivory was crushed. Thinking it may have to be changed to Copperhead later to fight the green menace. 😄
I think it's okay to call it the red menace. I'm pretty sure every response to the questions in the color thread said it was a red. We might have solid ground on which to protest this outcome.😜

At this point, I'm still in. The color doesn't matter, as I've already accepted that I'm probably going to attempt to ruin the dye job.
(I still haven't looked into the size yet - not worth trying if I'm not going to carry it anyway.) *I saw the numbers - just have to compare to a couple knives to confirm

I voted Dark-Brewed, but I agree Hemlock could be cool!!
Depending on Bill of course!!
And not done in Sawcut so far (I understand) It will be unique!!
Hmmmmm?? 🤔
I hope we are not building a Horse, by a Committee!!😲View attachment 1587306
I am still on Sepia but my second choice was Dark Brewed. I am very surprised Dark Brewed isnt getting more love from the firmly brown camp:)

I am not going to knock Hemlock. It is a very nice color and might look good in Sawcut Bone. We do not know. And we won’t know if we created a horse or a camel until it is too late.

On the other hand, Cooperhead is spectacular. It has only been done in Sawcut Bone on a few Barlows to the best of my knowledge. Those knives are worth a fortune. Please think hard before we just walk away from a knife that is simply unobtainable. We have a gorgeous rare swan in the hand, and we are giving it up for something in the bush. An unbelievable opportunity wasted.

I at least hope that those who selected other colors switch to one of the top two contenders so we will have everyone’s input. My first choice was Dark Chestnut, but it is toast so why waste my vote? Hey, maybe that can be a new color, Dark Toast!

Come on Sepia voters! Same to you Antique and Chestnut voters! Copperhead is so close to what you want!

A few more Hemlock pics, compared to a Case in Chestnut.

Sawcut bone displays colors so differently from jigged bone … is there no example of a GEC sawcut that used Hemlock before…perhaps under a different moniker (same colors have used different names in past runs from GEC)? I’m going for Hemlock but could switch if a relevant example is found that doesn’t look as nice as Copperhead.

I thought it might be a useful exercise to post examples where the same dye has been used for both sawcut and jigged bone. For example, if you have a knife with copperhead sawcut and copperhead jigged, or antique yellow sawcut and antique yellow jigged, post a side by side comparison picture.

It may not be an exact science but it will give us a bit of informed speculation with regards to an unknown being rendered in Sawcut. Just a thought on my part.

My contribution will be a blood red jigged next to a blood red sawcut.

I definitely like the sepia it looked great on the last TC run and would be nice on a bigger knife. Especially if it had the rough edges like the TC had.

The Copperhead pics posted just above are very nice. I also don’t think there’s a bad choice in the bunch. And I don’t own a knife with sawcut covers, so any outcome will be unique in my collection.

I’m steering furthest from Sepia, as it was just done earlier this year, which makes it the least unique for this year’s knife.

I wonder if the unknown outcome of sawcut hemlock will slow and/or reverse its momentum, similar to the unknown outcome of red in the previous poll.

I am sticking with Hemlock, as it seems to have the potential to be fantastic and truly unique among GEC knives.

That's part of the fun for me. If it was an artful knife we wanted, we could just trust r8shell r8shell and I'm sure she'd slap together a beauty.
This thing we're creating is a semi-chaotic concoction of almost 400 different people's tastes.
This forum knife is more meaningful for it!
Even if it'd been a maple handle stained hot pink with a comb I'd still carry it.
... actually... I take that back... the comb is too much.

I don't even care what shade wins at this point... can someone just send me the knife already?! 😁

Honestly, I am waiting for the hammer to drop....😧 - I never thought Hemlock Green would be a favorable choice.

I think it will mostly come down to color preferences - whether one wants to see yellow, orange, red, brown, or white near the bolsters and how dark they want the main body to be.

Depending on Bill of course!!
Just out of curiosity, does this mean we could get to the end of this with hemlock green winning by a landslide, and GEC could nix that option?
If so, and that happens, would we default to the #2 choice?

Thank you, btw, for the shorter poll. Between that and the distraction of looking for a new wallet, I should be able to stick with this one:thumbsup:
