Out of curiosity, is the saw cut pattern cut after dyeing, or before? That could produce some interesting differences.....

GEC 66 in Hemlock and Winchester Black Box 3964. Same (cheap) camera, different times...

SAWCUT COPPERHEAD: Because I missed out on that TC knife, because I want another TC knife, because Copperhead Road is just a bada55 song
SAWCUT HEMLOCK: Because being unique in every way is beauty in its own respect, because it doesn't have to be perfect to be amazing

Why? Hemlock is still winning. I don't see why anyone should change their votes frankly.

If it comes down to an "anything but" vote, fine, but copperhead and hemlock are both pretty rich. I personally strongly prefer hemlock, but I have a hard time understanding an "anything but" mentality when the choice is between two of the three darkest brown options on the table.

I encourage everyone to stick with their top choices. This really doesn't need to be a partisan struggle. It can just be people picking their favorite option. I've always loathed the idea that votes cast for a non-winning choice are wasted.

And hey, if anyone is hoping for a later release in a favored color, then holding firm will only help demonstrate market interest. Change your vote if you change your mind. Don't change it to block other people's hopes.

(But if you do change your mind, you should change it to hemlock ;) )
I changed my vote last poll because my choice was basically second to last. So I decided to put my vote to better use in choosing another alternative that I liked. People don't have to change their vote, but if you are sitting at 5% it's basically a wasted chance to help influence a color that you're ok with that's got a chance at happening. I'd rather feel like my vote mattered in some way. But that's my opinion.

It’s been a fun diversion from work Dylan. Definitely more fun than debating politics or religion, but about the same outcome. ;) (Not many opinions are changed.)

Let’s see, we’ll still have some debate and decisions to go after this…sterile blade or not, bolster finish, pull style, …

My apologies, Mark, I missed this. 100% in agreement though - it's an excellent and mostly wholesome distraction.

I feel like I missed the debauchery that made this less-than-wholesome.

I think, for the most part, this thread has been in good fun. That said, hyperbole can lead to raised hackles and hurt feelings - I think we have done a good job at keeping things a bit more tempered here though. I was very taken aback by how polarized the prior thread was - I simply wasn't prepared for it.

The previous color thread?

Heck, I didn’t even tag you. You are not obligated to respond to my babbling sir. The only apology I will accept is for crushing my copperhead dreams. Haha

So I asked my wife today, brown with red, is that acceptable in a fashion sense? I can’t keep up with those stupid rules and she’s pretty in tune. “Sure” she replied. It looks so off to me I thought surely it violated something there. Oh well. (Maybe after Labor Day it’s not allowed.)

So I realize it’s just not a pleasing combo to my eye. Like those brown leather hiking boots with red laces…I never understood that.

Okay, Leslie Tomville Leslie Tomville , you finally convinced me! Copperhead for the win!

We have been "warned" that the Hemlock will be "very dark". That's not good folks. We need to read between the lines here, because that is code for "going to be ugly, but whatever, it's your knife".
All due respect to you and your opinion, which I value...
I don't think Bill would ever put the GEC name on a knife he honestly thought was ugly!
I do think that he's keenly aware of how it's probably going to come out, and I believe he's got a good idea of what knife people like.

Also it might not be good... but it might be not not good.
It could be...
... excellent.
