Nobody will be sitting on a pile because they are all spoken for by Porch regulars before they get made...AND... If my comprehension of the guidelines is anything to go by..2/order Max....if anything there will be a lack of knives and only maybe a few sold on....oh yeah and mate life IS unfair.

May be just me, but I find it somewhat ironic that the person complaining about this being unfair didn't even meet the minimum criteria set forth at the beginning of this process.

Well, maybe it's not so terribly unfair. But still, it's a free-to-register forum, so why the segregation? Those knives are not being made for us for free, right? Everyone is paying for his knife anyway. Also, what exactly a paid membership gives to an ordinary humble knife collecotr like me? I doubt there are some great mysteries revealed in some kind of hidden threads, aren't they?

And hey, I am not a native english speaker, so maybe sometimes it sounds too... official or hursh? Keep it in mind, please. I'm not starting a fire or anything, just asking.
 
Can someone remind me what the criteria is for being able to purchase this forum knife?

Yes, it's a free forum, but do you think it's free to run? It's not, it costs money, lots of it. So the owner gets that money back by people buying memberships. We do that to support a forum we care about and to keep it running.

You are able to come on here, participate, learn and buy knives because of the support that members provide. So I think the bare minimum for a sought after knife that is made for bladeforums should be membership of this forum. It's $10. If you don't think you are getting $10 worth of value here per year, then I don't know what to tell you.
 
Make sure there's a poll about this for the 2022 knife.

But seriously for a minute and I believe this has been debated on past runs and the call was make to let it ride since there were popular citizens of Porchburg who were not paying members at the time.

The buying rules for these have always struck me as very relaxed. To be honest the only reason I chime in on them is to make sure they get their numbers for the order asap. Regardless of brand. But I also only order one so that another person can get one too.

But if you snooze for a few weeks then you will loose.
