Just an observation on my part but I think out of the copperhead examples that have been shown, only one of them looked brown to my eye. The others are very orangey-red. I find it interesting because copperhead looks more red in some cases than hemlock.

Copperhead is kind of a known variable where Hemlock would be treading unknown waters - which can bring its own sense of adventure and excitement. My curiosity has been kindled something fierce and I really would like to see Hemlock rendered in Sawcut.

I very well could rue this day though… 😁

I thought this was the "Traditional" subforum where we are supposed to be crusty and grumpy about anything that isn't, well, traditional. Can anybody show us a knife that's more than 15 years old with hemlock green bone? Next thing you know you guys are gonna be asking for pocket clips, too. #saidinoldmanvoice

I exhausted all of my grumpy old man notions in the previous thread.

Good point. Also, show me any if these GEC colors on a knife that's more than 15 years old.

I went with the Dark-Brewed, but it is not looking good at the moment. If I "have" to change my vote, it will be for the Hemlock...
Really like dark brewed as well--the name and the color just make me think coffee, and I love me some coffee. But it doesn't look like it has a chance, and that hemlock looks like it could be something special. I think it's the winner.

Going back through the red vs brown thread that we just endured, there was a lot of support for hemlock green from the brown camp, as well as the red camp...perhaps equally as much, if not more. It certainly is a less homogenized form of brown, with some of the individual ingredients being showcased instead of forming a uniform shade. I personally appreciate that aspect of some of our choices.

All the same ingredients, but this looks better to me:

It will be hard to go wrong with any of the choices. I’m a big fan of Hemlock Green - it’s a color that has a lot of depth and can be difficult to capture in pictures.

Copperhead is an easy choice because we have a lot of examples from past runs to base our decisions on.

However, Hemlock Green is a rare color, never done in Sawcut, and could go a long ways towards making our forum knife unique and special. It’s a bit of a long shot but it’s a color that is nice and rich - it has my vote.
THIS!! 100%!! Just the fact that there is currently no GEC sawcut in Hemlock Green has my vote as well. It's a great color, sure to win over all those Black Cherry fans as well.

This knife has long since been re-homed but it's about the closest I was able to ever capture the beauty of Hemlock Green.

I went with Copperhead after seeing that great one that Charlie posted and a couple of not as good antique yellows. Really they all look great, and I’ll be happy with any of them. Sepia would be my last choice as I got a sepia barlow earlier this year.
